What a Weekend!
Frank Lloyd’s President’s Prize weekend was a resounding success, described as the culmination of a marvelous golfing summer at Dungarvan Golf Club, and a fitting tribute to Frank and his Presidency. Speaking to a packed room of members, friends and guests, Frank was loud in his praise for the officers and committees who beavered in the background over the whole week. We were blessed with dry and sunny weather from Wednesday’s scramble to the exciting final on Sunday. Many tributes were paid also to our scratch golfer Kevin Stack who set an early pace on Friday with 42 points, which was not surpassed till late on Saturday by Conor Barrett – the eventual winner – with 43. Beautiful crystal prizes were presented on Sunday, to both ladies and gents, with Rachel Kiely a very popular winner. Following club caterer Tom Daly’s lovely snack food the music and fun went on to the late hours. Congratulations Frank, and well done!

There was great excitement in the clubhouse on Fri when 2 ladies brought in the same score of 43pts.  Rachel Kiely and Breda Conway, and on Sat. the best score of the day was brought in by Teresa Hayes 40pts.  Sunday’s golf was not of the same standard as the qualifying rounds, but the girls out together in the last 3ball kept the flag flying and came in 1st 2nd and 3rd respectively. We are now known as the 3 degrees !!  Presentation of Prizes took place to a packed clubhouse, with fabulous finger food and super music from our almost resident DJ Brian.  On behalf of the Ladies Club, I would like to thank President Frank for a fantastic table of prizes, and for a wonderful week-end with lots of fun and sunshine !! Well done Frank, you did us proud !
