DEISE GOLF WORLD WINTER LEAGUE PRESENTATION
This will take place on Friday 30th April at 9pm. All prize winners are requested to attend and support our generous sponsor Graham Nagle of Deise Golf World.
CLUB CLASSIC
Our Open “Club Classic” will be held from Friday 30th April to Sunday 2nd May. The format is a team of 4, any combination, with prizes for men’s, ladies and mixed teams. It will be 2 scores to count on holes 1 to 12, 3 scores on 13 to 15, and all 4 on 16 to 18. We would ask all members to make a special effort to support this important Club fund raising event. It is a great opportunity to invite friends, family or business associates to Dungarvan for a game of golf and show them what a great facility we have here.
FRIDAY SCRAMBLES
The very sociable invitation Friday evening scrambles are commencing on Friday next 30th April at 6.30pm. Vice Captains Roger O’Connor & Mary Phelan are looking forward to welcoming members old and new to this very enjoyable 9 hole fun fixture over the coming months. It is an “invitation” event, so members are encouraged to bring along a guest, and new members are especially welcome, as it is a great way to get to meet other members in a very informal atmosphere. So if you have nothing better to do at 6.30 on a Friday evening, why not play golf?

We had a great turn out last Tuesday for the 18H S’Ford competition very kindly sponsored by Orbsen Consulting, with almost 60 ladies playing on the day. Margaret Harty finished with a fantastic 41pts to win, with Mary McGrath and Bernie Hayes both recording 41pts to take 2nd and 3rd respectively. Well done to Breda McCarthy playing off 4 who had 35 gross. The Ladies Club would like to thank John & Anna Harhen for their very generous sponsorship and the wonderful array of prizes presented by Anna on the night.
Dungarvan Ladies were well represented in East Cork on Sunday last in the
AA Area Leagues where we had four teams in action. Triumphant on the day were the Challenge Cup Team consisting of Maeve Carthy, Margaret Harty, Una O’Connell, Carol Elstead and Joy Phelan. Well done girls and well done to their managers – June James and Carmel O’Brien and the best of luck in the next round. Thanks to all the players, caddies, managers and supporters who travelled on the day.

JUNIOR NOTES
Fred Daly Trophy: Following our recent success, our next opponents are West Waterford Golf Club in what will prove to be a difficult match. This demonstrates the quality of junior golf in the west of the county as we are the remaining Waterford teams left in this tournament. The date and venue will be announced by the GUI.
Tuition: Coaching for our pre juniors and beginners continues next Saturday 1st May at 3pm. Our elite squad will continue their training at 6pm on Friday, followed by a scramble.
Adults Beware: Our juniors are now beginning to show their prowess. Last Sunday Captain Des Cleary held several presentations and our juniors collected several prizes. This is a sign of things to come. Congrats to Kevin Walsh, Michael Maher, Gabriel Leacy and Jack Leacy.
