Captain's Prize 2010 (Mr.Des Cleary) Print

The Captain’s Prize, kindly presented by Desmond Cleary, will be played from Friday 28th May to Sunday 30th May 2010 and all eligible members are invited to participate.  Timesheets will be posted on the website from Friday 14th May.


• Those entering the competition must be Full Members of Dungarvan Golf Club of at least 3 months standing.


Note: Country Members and Junior Members are ineligible to compete in the Captains Prize


The draw for playing partners will be made on Tuesday 25th May at 7.00 p.m. Timesheets will be strictly adhered to and requests for change cannot be entertained once the draw is posted.

A Captain’s Scramble will take place on Wednesday 26th May at 7.00 p.m.

Please note that the course is closed on Friday 28th May up to the commencement of play. Practice on the course on that day is prohibited and will result in disqualification.

On Friday 28th and Saturday 29th May an 18 Hole Stroke first round will be played with the top 100 (plus ties) qualifying to play a second round on Sunday 30th May (also 18 Hole Stroke). The aggregate score over the two rounds will determine the overall winner. Both rounds will be played from the blue markers. There will be no playoff. The winner will be decided on a count back.

The timesheet for Sunday’s final round will be posted at 10.00 pm on the Saturday night. Qualifiers should check their Sunday tee times by telephoning the Club (058) 41605/43310 between 10.00 and 11.00 pm or by logging onto the Club website.

A Captain’s Prize Competition Committee of Maurice Cliffe, Tom Mulcahy, John Considine and Roger O’Connor will be available throughout the competition to deal with any queries that may arise. This committee (incl. their designates) is the sole authority in relation to the Captain’s Prize competition.
 
The presentation of prizes will take place in the Clubhouse on Sunday 30th May at 9.00 pm sharp.
