WATERFORD GAA GOLF CLASSIC
Beautiful weather added to the festival atmosphere at the Waterford GAA Annual Golf Classic at Dungarvan Golf Club this weekend. It was a terrific classic, well supported by GAA Clubs, local firms and individuals from all over the South East. The classic was kindly sponsored by Dawn Meats and Tom Murphy Car Sales, two companies well known for their love of Waterford GAA. The eventual winners were the Vet Link team consisting of club members Tom Melody, Cyril Power, Michael Kelleher and Pat McGovern, with a fantastic 75 points. The sixty.com group will be proud that these ‘experienced’ golfers managed to pull off the top prize, showing the youngsters how it’s done! The GAA Cup was won by Brickeys GAA Club. The weekend also had a few surprises in the form of two holes in one. The ever smiling Mary Ann Coffey, our former ladies Handicap Secretary, had a hole in one on the 16th. Mary was playing in the Margaret Harty team who were delighted for her. Billy Walsh from St. Mollerans GAA Club scored a hole in one also on the 16th. Well done to both of you. A fantastic weekend of golf was enjoyed by all who took part. Many thanks to Colm Bannon and Tom Coffey who worked tirelessly taking team entries and all those who turned out to show their support.
