President’s Prize 2012
The President’s Prize, to be presented by J.P. Hayes, will be held from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August 2012, and all eligible members are invited to participate. To enter, you must be a Full Member of Dungarvan Golf Club for the previous three months; however, Country, Overseas and Junior Members (whose handicaps are 16 or lower) are eligible to compete for all but the first prize.
On Friday 17th and Saturday 18th an 18 hole Stroke first round will be played off white markers for men, red for ladies, with the top 80 men plus ties and the top 36 ladies plus ties qualifying to play a second round on Sunday 19th. The aggregate score over the two rounds will decide the winner. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by a count-back.
Please put your name on the on-line timesheet at www.dungarvangolfclub.com. The draw for playing partners and exact starting times will be made on Tuesday 14th at 7 pm. Tee times will be strictly adhered to, and requests for change cannot be entertained once the draw is posted. The timesheet for Sunday’s final round will be posted at 10 pm on Saturday 18th. Qualifiers should check their Sunday tee time on-line, or by telephoning the club at (058) 41605/43310, ext 21, between 10 and 11pm.
A President’s Prize Competition Committee of Maurice Cliffe, Tom Mulcahy, Donal Williams, Liam Fitzgerald and Michael O’Mahony will be available throughout the competition to deal with any queries that may arise. This committee (incl. their designates) is the sole authority in relation to the Presidents Prize competition.
Please note that the course is closed on Friday 17th up to commencement of play. Practice on the course on that day is prohibited and will result in disqualification.
All members and their partners are invited to the Clubhouse on Sunday 19th for the presentation of prizes at 9 pm.
Yours sincerely,
Irene Lynch
Secretary/Manager.
P.S. A President’s Scramble will take place on Wednesday 15th at 7pm. To enter, please put your name on the draw sheet in the foyer, and arrive early on the night.
