Our Youngones were back in action on Wednesday 4th March with Anne Heneberry (27) winning on the day with 14pts. Our next competition is on Wednesday 11th March.

When we introduced this competition back in 2018 the emphasis was on social golf and fun and we are so happy the way it has progressed . Last Friday we had two new members to Dungarvan Golf Club- namely John McGroarty and Brendan Merrigan and what better way to integrate into our club. Many thanks to Anne for providing tasty homemade treats for everyone.
FIRST: – Les Ford and Anne Hennebry
SECOND: – John McGroarty and Grace Hayes
THIRD: – Brendan Merrigan and Ellen Power

We are back again next Friday (Mar 13). Assemble in the foyer at 9.30 am with play at 9.50am. All are welcome.

A warm congratulations to two of our Get into Golf participants – Siobhan Freyne and Paul Malone who ‘tied the knot’ last week. We wish them health and happiness from all at Dungarvan Golf Club and looking forward to having them back on the fairways soon.

This is shaping up to be a really close battle for first and second place. Presently Pat McCarthy’s team are out front with Jim O’ Mahony’s team on their heels. There is nothing in it – so playing and returning your cards is vital as the league is drawing to a close.

Despite a small entry, we ran the scramble last Sunday. Many thanks to those who supported it and to Angela and Cait for running it.

FIRST:  – Larry Fahey, Louise Moloney and Libby McGinn Murphy
SECOND: – John McGroarty , Grace Hayes and Breeda Murphy

Our Elite Junior Panel travelled to Tinhalla on Friday 6th March as we continue our Spring Training under the watchful eye of our Club Professional David Hayes.

We are busy preparing our golfing calendar for the season and it will be released in due course.

Any enquiries relating to Junior Activities can be directed to David Hayes. David can be contacted at 058-44707 or email golfpro@eircom.net

A great afternoon in our club on Sunday (8th March) with the Cork Teachers Outing taking to our fairways and supporting our Lotto when they finished their round.  Great to see the Outings back as it shows that we are heading towards Summer golf.

The numbers drawn for our Lotto were 1, 10, 17 and 26. There was no winner of the Jackpot which increases to €8,200 next week. There were two winners of the Match 3s this week – Angela Murphy and Tim Browne who each win €100 due to the carryover from last week.  Congratulations to both of them.

The €90 tickets for next year’s Lotto (commencing 1st April) are now on sale and we are encouraging members to purchase a ticket. As you are aware the profit on the lotto is invested into developing and improving the course. Our members have been extremely generous to-date in their support of the Lotto and we have no doubt that this will continue.

The draw next week will take place on Sunday afternoon about 4:00pm – all are welcome

Social Bridge continues at the clubhouse on Friday mornings from 11am till 1.pm. Beginners/Improvers welcome, no Partners required.
