Our esteemed President Tom McCabe presented his Presidents Prize on Sunday 16th August after a fantastic weekend of golf. It was great to see so many people take part on what is always a popular weekend. Congratulations to our well-deserved victors Martin Walsh and Grace Hayes who took home the top prize in the Gents and Ladies prizes.

Thank you to Tom, Chris and all the team on such fantastic service over the weekend and everyone was complimentary of their delicious meals. The Presidents Prize scramble to honour our President Tom McCabe took place in brilliant sunshine on Wednesday 12th August. Due to Covid restrictions we could not have a shotgun start but that did not deter over 100 enthusiastic golfers who enjoyed a fabulous afternoon of golf.

Our Junior coaching continues under the watchful eye of our Club Professional David Hayes. Numbers are limited to 20. Bookings are now essential due to contact tracing, so if you wish for your nipper to participate please contact the Proshop at 058-44707 before Friday. Coaching commences at 3pm.

We are delighted to welcome back our popular Fun Friday Foursomes on Friday 28th August. Our wonderful volunteers Colette Power and John Moran will ensure this fun event is run in a safe manner. We ask you to assemble at 9.30am near the front door and adhere to social distancing rules.  


Thank you to everyone who has entered a photo to our photo competition. We have received some beautiful entries. There is just a few days left so please send your photos to and your photo could feature on our website or social media channels. The challenge is to capture the beauty of the natural environment of Dungarvan Golf club.

The competition is open to members and guests and the photograph must be taken during the period July 20th to August 20th and all entries must be submitted by midnight on August 20th. The winner will be selected by Karen Dempsey Photography and her decision is final. The winner will receive a mystery prize!! We look forward to receiving your entries.


The new Lotto committee are busy organising the commencement of Lotto 3 and will be in contact shortly to inform you of how they intend to progress

Our €90 tickets for Lotto 3 are on sale and we thank those who have already purchased a ticket – if you not purchased please do. As you are aware the profit from the Lotto is invested into developing and improving the course. Our members and their friends have been extremely generous to-date in their support of the Lotto and we have no doubt that this will continue. Please contact the office and we can take payment over the phone.


We had no competition on Wednesday 12th August as the Presidents Scramble was taking place that day. We will be back in action next week.

It has been great to see so many societies visit us in the past few weeks and we look forward to welcoming our societies booked in with us this week. We would like to thank all our visitors to date for being very co-operative and understanding of the protocols we have in place. All our visitors are required to provide us with their names and contact phone numbers in advance of their visit for contact tracing purposes. Members and Visitors are reminded to observe the below Covid 19 Rules when visiting Dungarvan Golf Club. We ask all our Members and Visitors to wear a mask when entering the Pro Shop and the Office please. The safety of our Staff, Members and Visitors is paramount at this time.

Visitors names and phone numbers must be provided to the Pro Shop or through BRS when booking your tee time for contact tracing. Please remember to abide by the GUI guidelines and keep your distance. The Golf timesheet opens at 9.50pm on Thursdays on BRS and each Thursday there after until further notice.

Reminder of Covid 19 Rules:

Members are asked to note the following;

1.    If you are ill or have symptoms, Stay at Home.

2.    Physical distancing must be observed at all times

3.    Time Sheet

·      Members and Visitors allowed play

·      Tee times must be booked online or by phone

·      All names must be on the time sheet (to assist with Contact Tracing)

4.    Playing Golf

·      Players should turn up no more than 15 minutes before time booked

·      Sign in at the pro shop 5 minutes before tee time. 

(Records must be kept for 6 weeks for contact tracing)

·      No social gathering of any size

·      No touching flags as there will be a system in place for retrieving balls

·      No rakes in bunkers so smooth with club or foot before leaving

·      Ball washers, bins, seats will not be in use

·      Buggies may be used but only by one person

·      If a ball is lost, there should be no going back to replay.

Use of the Practice Ground is limited to 3 people and must be reserved thru the ProShop. Everybody must hit from the 16th Hole side.

5. After golf, you may avail of our bar and restaurant facilities, but please obey our staff’s instructions. You will be signed in and seated and our staff will serve you at your table.
