Storm Ellen hit hard last Wednesday night causing damage to our course. Due to this damage which included fallen trees, coupled with the heavy volume of rain that fell, our course was closed on Thursday and Friday last week. We also experienced a power outage which resulted in the clubhouse being closed on Thursday and Friday morning. Thank you to our course staff and especially to all our members who came out to help with the big clean up. Our members prove time and time again that they are dedicated to helping out whenever they are needed. This is much appreciated and valued.


Our Annual Open Week is taking place from Monday 7th September to Sunday 13th September this year and we have a great line up of competitions and generous sponsors. Mark the date in your diary and details will be posted shortly on BRS.

Our Junior coaching continues under the watchful eye of our Club Professional David Hayes. Numbers are strictly limited. We are delighted to welcome back our popular Fun Friday Foursomes this Friday 28th August. Our wonderful volunteers Colette Power and John Moran will ensure this fun event is run in a safe manner. We ask you to assemble at 9.30am near the front door and adhere to social distancing rules.

The new Lotto committee are busy organising the commencement of Lotto 3 and will be in contact shortly to inform you of how they intend to progress

Our €90 tickets for Lotto 3 are on sale and we thank those who have already purchased a ticket – if you not purchased please do. As you are aware the profit from the Lotto is invested into developing and improving the course. We had no competition on Wednesday 19th Aug due to the continuing bad weather.

We will be back next Wednesday at the usual starting time of 2:00pm – please be in the clubhouse at 1:45pm to allow the draw to take place.


We had no Youngones competition on Wednesday 19th August due to the bad weather. Our outing to Waterford Castle has been postponed because of new restrictions.

We will have an 18 Hole 4 person team competition instead on Wednesday August 26th in Club.  Please enter your name on the Time Sheet. Draw on Tuesday.

Members and Visitors are reminded to observe the below Covid 19 Rules when visiting Dungarvan Golf Club. We ask all our Members and Visitors to wear a mask when entering the Pro Shop and the Office please. The safety of our Staff, Members and Visitors is paramount at this time.

Visitors names and phone numbers must be provided to the Pro Shop or through BRS when booking your tee time for contact tracing. Please remember to abide by the GUI guidelines and keep your distance. The Golf timesheet opens at 9.50pm on Thursdays on BRS and each Thursday there after until further notice.

Reminder of Covid 19 Rules:

Members are asked to note the following;

1.    If you are ill or have symptoms, Stay at Home.

2.    Physical distancing must be observed at all times

3.    Time Sheet

·      Members and Visitors allowed play

·      Tee times must be booked online or by phone

·      All names must be on the time sheet (to assist with Contact Tracing)

4.    Playing Golf

·      Players should turn up no more than 15 minutes before time booked

·      Sign in at the pro shop 5 minutes before tee time. 

(Records must be kept for 6 weeks for contact tracing)

·      No social gathering of any size

·      No touching flags as there will be a system in place for retrieving balls

·      No rakes in bunkers so smooth with club or foot before leaving

·      Ball washers, bins, seats will not be in use

·      Buggies may be used but only by one person

·      If a ball is lost, there should be no going back to replay.

Use of the Practice Ground is limited to 3 people and must be reserved through the ProShop. Everybody must hit from the 16th Hole side.

5. After golf, you may avail of our bar and restaurant facilities, but please obey our staff’s instructions. You will be signed in and seated and our staff will serve you at your table.
