IRISH JUNIOR CUP
Congratulations to our Dungarvan team who beat Clonmel in their Irish Junior Cup match on Sunday. We advance to the Munster Quarter finals against Cahir next. Our Junior coaching continues under the watchful eye of our Club Professional David Hayes. Numbers are strictly limited. Bookings are now essential due to contact tracing, so if you wish for your child to participate please contact the Proshop at 058-44707 before Friday. Coaching commences at 3pm on Saturdays.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMESIt was great to welcome back our loyal supporters and many new golfers for this fun event last Friday. It has been over five months since our last foursomes. Working within Covid restrictions all went according to plan and great fun was had by all.RESULTS1st : John Moran and Louise Moloney2nd : Charles Daly and Flora Wall3rd : Jim O’ Mahony and Colette PowerOnline Booking – Going forward , you now need to go on-line and book your place. Draw will be made prior to competition on Friday.If you would like to meet other golfers and have fun, why not book your place and then join us on Fri morning (Sept 4). Assemble at the Marshals hut at 9.30am ready to play at 9.50am. All are welcome. Thank you to Colette Power and John Moran for all their work in getting our Fun Friday Foursomes back up and running.
We had a great turnout for our 60.com on Wednesday 26th August! This was our first singles competition since play resumed after the Covid break. Considering all the poor weather we have had the course was in excellent condition – well done to the course staff and the volunteers.

We are off at our normal time next week so please be in the clubhouse before 1:45pm to allow the draw for partners to take place. If you are in interested in social golf come along and join us any Wednesday.
Our Youngones were playing on Wednesday 26th of August in a Team of 4 competition. Congratulations to the winning team of Marie Fahey, Maria Kiersey, Maria A Kiersey and Fidelma Horsom (80pts).
Runners Up were Maria Ryan, Celia Power, Anne Heneberry and Marianne Mulcahy (79pts). Our next competition is on Wednesday 2nd September from 11.30am – 12.30pm on the front nine. Please book your name on the time sheet.
The new Lotto committee are busy organising the commencement of Lotto 3 and will be in contact shortly to inform you of how they intend to progress
Our €90 tickets for Lotto 3 are on sale and we thank those who have already purchased a ticket – if you not purchased please do. As you are aware the profit from the Lotto is invested into developing and improving the course. Our members and their friends have been extremely generous to-date in their support of the Lotto and we have no doubt that this will continue. PRO SHOP NEWS
Our Pro Shop continues to be a hive of activity. We will have a Taylormade Demo Day on 7th September. Please contact the Pro Shop to book in. As always, David has many special offers, all of which can be found on his website at www.davidhayesgolf.com.
It has been great to see so many societies visit us in the past few weeks and we look forward to welcoming our societies booked in with us this week. We would like to thank all our visitors to date for being very co-operative and understanding of the protocols we have in place.
All our visitors are required to provide us with their names and contact phone numbers in advance of their visit for contact tracing purposes. If you are interested in booking in a society for 2020/2021 please call the office on 058-43310 or email us on email@example.com
Members and Visitors are reminded to observe the below Covid 19 Rules when visiting Dungarvan Golf Club. We ask all our Members and Visitors to wear a mask when entering the Pro Shop , Office and when going to the Restaurant please. The safety of our Staff, Members and Visitors is paramount at this time.
Visitors names and phone numbers must be provided to the Pro Shop or through BRS when booking your tee time for contact tracing. Please remember to abide by the GUI guidelines and keep your distance. The Golf timesheet opens at 9.50pm on Thursdays on BRS and each Thursday there after until further notice.
Reminder of Covid 19 Rules:
Members are asked to note the following;
1. If you are ill or have symptoms, Stay at Home.
2. Physical distancing must be observed at all times
3. Time Sheet
· Members and Visitors allowed play
· Tee times must be booked online or by phone
· All names must be on the time sheet (to assist with Contact Tracing)
4. Playing Golf
· Players should turn up no more than 15 minutes before time booked
· Sign in at the pro shop 5 minutes before tee time.
(Records must be kept for 6 weeks for contact tracing)
· No social gathering of any size
· No touching flags as there will be a system in place for retrieving balls
· No rakes in bunkers so smooth with club or foot before leaving
· Ball washers, bins, seats will not be in use
· Buggies may be used but only by one person
· If a ball is lost, there should be no going back to replay.
Use of the Practice Ground is limited to 3 people and must be reserved through the ProShop. Everybody must hit from the 16th Hole side.
5. After golf, you may avail of our bar and restaurant facilities, but please obey our staff’s instructions. You will be signed in and seated and our staff will serve you at your table.
