Our Captains Prize presented by Paddy Kennedy was held over the weekend and what a weekend it was! The weather was mixed with heavy showers of rain at times but that did not deter our members! The course was in tremendous condition, thank you to our course staff for all their hard work. There was a great atmosphere around the clubhouse all weekend which culminated in a large turnout for the presentation of prizes on Sunday night, a testament to how well regarded our Captain Paddy is with our members.

Congratulations to Gerry Raher who won the Captains Prize. Gerry also won our Presidents Prize at the start of the month so he certainly is on a winning streak! In second place was Keith Landers who was narrowly defeated on the day. Best Gross was Alan O’Donnell and 3rd place was Cian Fahy. Congratulations to Louise Moloney who took home the Ladies prize. (Full results below).

Thank you to our Captains Prize committee who ensured the weekend was very well organised and to all the members who gave up their time to help. Thank you to our Catering Manager Tom Daly and all the team in the restaurant who were very busy all weekend and provided a great service to our members. We had no Fun Friday Foursomes last week as the course was closed in preparation for the Captains weekend. Congratulations to Paddy Kennedy on a great weekend and to all the prize winners. A special congratulations to Louise Moloney (a great supporter of the Foursomes) on winning the Captain’s prize to the ladies with an amazing score of 64.
We are back this Friday Jul 1. If you would like to play Scotch Foursomes why not go online and book your place. We would love to see you there.

The nine-hole qualifying competition on Tuesdays is proving very popular with these ladies as most of them have handicaps now. Last Tuesday Aisling Horgan was the winner with a great score of 23 pts. Well done Aisling.

These ladies are enjoying the golf with our lady members each Tuesday evening. They have only one more evening on-course and then it is ‘make your mind up time’ as they come to the end of phase one of the Get into Golf programme. I would like to thank all the lady members who gave so generously of their time each Tuesday evening. We couldn’t have done it without you.  We are hosting the Gala evening on Wednesday
Jun 29 for men and women. This will explain clearly the Get into Golf programme going forward.

Our Junior competitions continue every Wednesday for the duration of the summer – all events are Open so feel free to bring a friend. Tee times can be booked on our website.

We had a great turnout again for our pre junior and beginner lessons on Saturday afternoon – great fun was had by all and we continue again next Saturday at 3pm. Our Junior Get into Golf Programme commences on Saturday 9th July and we are looking forward to welcoming our eager new Juniors!

We had our sixth weekly Lotto 4 draw on Friday, 24th June. This was week 6 of 52. The numbers drawn were 6, 14, 19, and 21. The jackpot was €10,000 and there was no winner. The jackpot remains at €10,000 for the next draw. We had one Match 3 winning ticket. The ticket holder was Michael Brackett who wins €100.
