The Men’s & Ladies Clubs have decided to introduce a local rule in respect of the soft ground conditions. Rule applies in respect of soft underfoot conditions plus areas of dense leaf cover on the course. Application of the rule requires playing partners agreement. This rule comes into force from Friday 4th November.

In addition, it has been decided to take the bunkers out of play for the winter months. A player should drop the ball outside the bunker at the nearest point of relief not nearer the hole.

Where it is agreed with playing partners that a player’s ball is lost in Abnormal Ground Conditions within the boundaries of the course – a player may play another ball from the place where it is agreed the original ball was lost – without penalty.

For the purposes of this local rule Abnormal Ground Conditions is any area of very soft underfoot ground conditions throughout the entire course. In addition, the local rule relates to a ball lost in areas of dense leaf cover on the ground.
