CAPTAINS DRIVE IN & SCRAMBLE

The Captains Drive In takes place at 2pm on Friday 17^th followed by scramble at 2:30pm. We wish Captain Brian Beatty and Lady Captain Una O’Connell every success for their year ahead.

The timesheet is open to book in for the scramble and the draw for partners will be posted on Friday. We are all really looking forward to the drive in and scramble and celebrating St. Patricks Day. We hope members can join us for the scramble and some finger food afterwards in the clubhouse.

JUNIOR LESSONS

Our popular weekly Saturday lessons for juniors will recommence on Saturday 22^nd April at 3pm. These group lessons with our PRO David Hayes are great fun and our Juniors learn so much each week.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP 2023

Our Junior Membership year commences from 1^st April. If your child would like to join as a junior member, please contact the office as we have great joining rates of €70 for ages 6 – 12 and €100 for ages 13 -18 (plus €7 Golf Ireland Levy). Please email office@dungarvangolfclub.com for an application form. Children will have great fun at Dungarvan Golf Club, learn to play golf, make new friends and develop life skills.

HOME ALLIANCE CAPTAINS DAY
The Home Alliance Captains Day, which marks the end of Winter golf, takes place on
Sat Mar 25^th. The timesheet opened on Monday with a special section for the Home Alliance. Booking closes on Wed Mar 22 at 8 pm. The draw will take place on Thursday morning after which the playing times will be posted. Many thanks to the Home Alliance Committee of Ann Stack (Secretary), Anne Heneberry (Treasurer) and Colette Power (Captain) for running the Home Alliance over the Winter months.

PILATES CLASSES

We will be starting Pilates classes here in the clubhouse in the coming weeks. We will have a class for Men and Women and if you are interested, please contact the office to confirm your place. These classes are always popular so places are filled on a first come, first served basis.

We had a wet and windy day on Wednesday 8^th March for our 60.com. This did not deter a small number of brave golfers taking to the course.

The winner was: Adrian O’Driscoll 20pts. If you’re interested in social golf, please put your name on the timesheet and join our society.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
A huge thanks to everyone who turned out on Friday last for our Scotch Foursomes. Despite weather warnings, the weather was much better than we anticipated. The scoring was very close.

There will be no Foursomes this Friday as it is the Captains Drive-in. So please come and support the captains. From the Fun Friday group, we wish our incoming captains Brian Beatty and Una O’ Connell the best of luck for the coming year. We will be back again on Fri Mar 24.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE

Unfortunately, due to a very wet afternoon the scramble had to be cancelled on Sunday last. However, we are back again on Sunday Mar 26^th at 3pm. Booking opened on Monday, so if you would like to participate just go online and book your place to avoid disappointment.

Thank you to all members who have paid their membership subscriptions to date for 2023. Membership Subscriptions for 2023 are now due and payment can be made in the office, phone or via our BRS payment system.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto 4 draw on Friday, 10th March. This was Week 43 of 52.
The numbers drawn were 5, 8, 10 and 21. The jackpot was €10,000 and there was no winner. The jackpot remains at €10,000 for the next draw. We had four match 3 winners – Des Power, David P Byrne, Peter Kirwan and Frances Flahavan who each win €25.
