It is that time of year again when we are planning our Get into Golf programme for 2023. With this in mind we have an Information meeting for men and women on Tuesday May 2nd at 8pm in Dungarvan Golf Club. If you have been thinking of playing golf why not come along and hear all the details. Our Get Into Golf Programme has been running for many years now and is very popular!

Our popular Bank Holiday mixed champagne scramble returns this Monday 1st May. We are delighted with how well received these scrambles are and look forward to welcoming many visitors this Bank Holiday weekend. For all tee time bookings please go to or call 058-43310.

We would like to advise all members of their obligation to return scores for counting competitions. We have been in contact with Golf Ireland on this issue and it is a matter that is taken very seriously. No returns are no longer acceptable.

Commiserations to our Fred Daly team who suffered a narrow defeat against Tramore last Friday. The match was played in great spirits and saw Tramore shade a tough contest. Our boys are in action again next Sunday when we take on Waterford Castle in the Irish Junior Foursomes. We wish them the best of luck.

Our popular weekly Saturday lessons for juniors returned last Saturday and we had a fantastic turnout. These group lessons with our PRO David Hayes are great fun and our Juniors learn so much each week. Our lessons take place every Saturday at 3pm. All are welcome.

On Saturday 15th April at 8.20pm, on a bitterly cold afternoon and after an epic battle, Waterford Castle nudged past Dungarvan Golf club in the Mixed Foursomes. It was a closely fought match. Well done to all the players who played their hearts out and to all the supporters who stayed to the very end. Everyone retired to the Clubhouse and enjoyed Tom’s wonderful food. There are still opportunities to join a team. Check the notice boards and put your name down, you won’t regret it, it is brilliant fun!

Our Pierce Purcell team are in action this coming Saturday 29th at 3pm with a home fixture versus Carrick On Suir Golf Club. Best of luck to Vice Captain Liam and the team. The interest has been great in playing.
