GET INTO GOLF 2023 INFORMATION EVENING

As these notes are going to press we are preparing for our information meeting on Tuesday night (May 2) at 8 pm. This meeting is open to both men and women who are interested in finding out about golf in our club. Already we have a lot of enquiries with a waiting list now in place. If you would like to hear more why not join us at 8 pm in the clubhouse. All are welcome.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Join us next Sunday (May 7) at 4pm we are holding our next  social scramble. These scrambles are proving to be very popular on Sunday afternoons with time sheet booking rapidly. If you are free next Sunday afternoon, just go online and book your place to avoid disappointment.

NON-RETURNS IN COUNTING COMPETITIONS

We would like to advise all members of their obligation to return scores for counting competitions. We have been in contact with Golf Ireland on this issue and it is a matter that is taken very seriously. No returns are no longer acceptable.

JUNIOR NEWS

It was wonderful to see such a large group of enthusiastic Junior Golfers attend last Saturdays group golf lesson with our Pro David Hayes. Special thanks to Niamh Reynolds for assisting on the day. Lessons take place every Saturday at 3pm. All are welcome.

Our Junior Membership for 2023 is €77 for ages 6 – 12 and €107 for ages 13 – 18. Children will have great fun at Dungarvan Golf Club, learn to play golf, make new friends and develop life skills. Please contact the office to request an application form. 

MINOR CUP TEAM

Commiserations to our Ladies Minor Cup team who were defeated last Friday by Waterford Castle. It was lovely to have the ladies from Waterford Castle visit and enjoy our club and we wish them the very best.

Congratulations to our Pierce Purcell team who won their match against Carrick on Suir Golf club on Saturday afternoon. Thank you to Carrick on Suir Golf Club for travelling down and their good company on and off the course.

We had our first 60.com outing of 2023 in Thurles Golf Club on Wednesday 26^th April. We had a full time sheet and an enthusiastic group of group of golfers rearing to get on the course. The scoring matched the enthusiasm with fantastic result produced.

Summer arrived unexpectedly last Friday with weather conditions ideal for our foursomes. The course was in pristine condition thanks to our course  staff  who work tirelessly to achieve this standard.

GET INTO GOLF 2021/22 REFRESHER LESSONS
These lessons have been in full swing over the last three weeks with the final one this week. They have been invaluable to our new golfers with David Hayes going through  all the aspects of the game including chipping and putting and of course their long game. The feed back has been very positive with some of the ladies featuring in the ‘winners enclosure’. Well done everyone and a special thanks to David Hayes who gives so much time to our Get into Golf ladies.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto 4 draw on Friday, 28th April. This was Week 50 of 52. The numbers drawn were 5, 16, 19 and 21. The jackpot was €10,000 and there was no winner. The jackpot remains at €10,000 for the next draw. There were three match 3 winners. Mary French, Nano Fitzgerald and Sean O Ciarba each win €34. Many thanks for your support of our club Lotto.
