Our next Social Scramble takes place this coming Sunday Sept 17. Shotgun start at
3 pm. These scrambles are open to all members. They are great social events and great fun. If you are free this Sunday afternoon, we would love to see you there. Just go online and book your place.


As our summer season winds down, our junior competitions revert to Sunday afternoons. These are now members only competitions as we host our major events. Next Sunday Junior Captains Harry Breen & Sarah Moynihan host the Junior Captains Prize. That will be followed by the Pennant Cup sponsored by Mr. John Lynch. The Captains Prize and John Casey Shield will follow culminating in our Golf of the Year Award kindly sponsored by Mr. Paul O’Riordan. Well done to Eoghan O’Brien and Junior Captain Harry Breen who took the honours last Sunday.

Our Junior Lessons continue next Saturday at 3pm until the end of September. Thanks to Niamh, James and Alan for hosting last Saturday. As always, we had a great turnout.

The 2023-2024 Irish Schools competition season gets underway in September with significant format changes. The competition categories – Junior (Under-16) and Senior (Under-19) – will remain as before for Boys and Girls but for the first time all of the competitions will be open for entry by individuals and the primary competition in each category will be individual.

Dungarvan Golf Club are hosting the Senior Girls & Boys (U19) on Wednesday 27th September. To register please visit select Other Competitions – Schools – Select Dungarvan. Closing date for entry is Monday 18th Sept.

Senior Boys (Under-19 as of 1st January 2024; maximum H.I. of 19.9). Senior Girls (Under-19 as of 1st January 2024; maximum H.I. of 39.9). Entry fee is €10.00 per person which will include a light lunch.


The ladies match play experience is nearing conclusion as the semi finals are due to be played by the 23rd of September.


Our Winter League will run from October 16th until the end of December. Entry fee is 15 euro to be paid in advance. The closing date is October 8th.


Final call to our Lady Members to get your name and fee in before Wed 13th September. The Home Alliance Competitions are held in conjunction with the regular Tuesday or Friday/Saturday Competitions. The entry fee of €20 enters you in 6 competitions held between September and March. There is also a Home Alliance Captains Day which takes place on April 6th 2024. There will be 2 or 3 categories on Tuesday and on Friday/Saturday depending on entries. There will be prizes in each section.

The first round this year takes place on Tuesday 19th and Friday 22nd/Saturday 23rd September. We would encourage all members to enter.

We had a perfect day for our competition on Wednesday 6th September. The conditions were tropical and we had, as usual, a full time sheet. The course conditions have improved dramatically with the good weather. The scoring as expected was excellent.

These lessons for our Get into Golf ladies got underway last Wednesday evening. Because of numbers interested we had to run two separate sessions. The feedback from our PGA Professional David Hayes was very positive confirming that we have some very strong golfers in the groups.

9H Get into Golf Qualifying Competition
Due to failing light this competition is now scheduled to start at 5.10 pm. It is a very popular competition with our Get into Golf ladies providing them with an opportunity to participate in competitions. Winner (5/09/23) Mary O’Donnell 20 pts.


We had our weekly Lotto 5 draw on Friday, 8th Sept. This was Week 17 of 52.
The numbers drawn were 6, 9, 21 and 24. The jackpot was €10,000 and there was no winner. The jackpot remains at €10,000 for the next draw. There were eight match 3 winners. Dave Lennon, Marion Burke, Raymond Moloney, Joe Murphy, Eddie Kuczaj, Helen O Shea, Brendan Kent and Michael Browne each win €25. The next draw will take place on Friday 15th September at 3.30pm.
