We had a fantastic turnout and a full timesheet for our Junior Captains prize presented by Harry Breen & Sarah Moynihan. Considering conditions, scoring was exceptional with Mark Finnegan shooting the lights out with 45 points to take victory by 6 from Rory McKeown. Rody Morrissey secured the Gross Prize with 31 points off scratch. Well done to Harry & Sarah who have served our club with distinction during their captaincy.

Our next event is the Pennant Cup kindly sponsored again by Mr. John Lynch. The event takes place next Sunday 24th and the timesheet is live on our website. Mark Finnegan now leads our Golfer of the Year award by one from Eoghan O’Brien but it’s all to play for with the best 3 scores from the 5 events. Thanks to Paul O’Riordan for again sponsoring the Golfer of the Year Award.

A great turnout again for our Junior coaching last Saturday. Thanks to Niamh and Alan for their invaluable assistance. Coaching continues until the end of September.

Any enquiries relating to our junior activities can be directed to our Junior Convenor David Hayes. David can be contacted at 058-44707 or email

We are back in action again this Wednesday 20th with an almost full timesheet!

We had no competition on Wednesday 13th September as the course was closed to allow essential work to take place. We have our outing to Tipperary Golf Club on Tuesday 19th Sept and our normal competition on Wednesday 20th Sept.

Yet again our foursomes had to be cancelled last Friday due to poor weather conditions. We had torrential rain which put paid to the event. We are back this Friday (Sept 22). If you are not on the timesheet, just go online and book your place.

Our Get into Golf ladies are showing great progress and enjoying these lessons with our PGA Professional David Hayes. The lessons will conclude this week. We are very grateful to David Hayes who is so supportive of the Get into Golf programme and is always willing to help and support us.

With the weather starting to turn just a reminder to replace all divots and repair pitch marks on the greens. While the majority of us have always adopted this basic necessity unfortunately there is a lot of unreplaced divots and pitch marks on the green. This is a plea to help here and maintain the course in the excellent condition we have become accustomed to.
