PRESIDENTS PRIZE 2024
Our Presidents Prize kindly presented by June James will take place from Friday 30th August – Sunday 1st September. June has been hard-working, dedicated and outstanding in her role as President. She works tirelessly behind the scenes for her beloved club. June is most gracious and welcoming to visitors and members alike – a warm welcome from June certainly leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets. She has been the driving force behind so many wonderful events over this past Centenary year. Thank you so much to June for all that she does for Dungarvan Golf Club. We wish President June the very best for her Presidents Prize weekend.
The Presidents Scramble will take place this Wednesday 28th July. On Friday 30th/Saturday 31st an 18 Hole Stableford first round will be played off the white markers for men and red for ladies. There will also be an option to play in a separate 18-hole S/F competition on either Friday 30th or Saturday 31st off the green tee markers for men and red markers for woman. This is to facilitate any member who cannot take part in the main President’s 36-hole competition.
A GIG 9-hole S/F competition off the green tees for men and red tees for women will be held from 5 p.m. on Saturday the 31st August. A 9-hole junior competition playing off the whites for boys and red markers for girls will be held on Sunday the 1st September at 4p.m.
All members and their partners are invited to the Clubhouse on Sunday 1st September for the presentation of prizes at 8pm.
JB CARR ALL IRELAND SERIES
Our team head to Woodenbridge GC for the All-Ireland series this coming weekend. The other three provincial winners are: Connacht: Ballinrobe GC, Co. Mayo, Leinster: Westmanstown GC, Dublin, Ulster: Rossmore GC, Co. Monaghan.
The semifinal draw will be made on Friday evening during the opening ceremony. The semifinal matches will tee off at 10am and 11am on Saturday morning. We will not know our tee time until the draw is made on Friday evening. The two winning semi-finalists will compete in the grand final which gets underway at 11am on Sunday. What a shame that these finals clash with our Presidents Prize weekend. President June has been a fantastic supporter of our JB Carr team throughout their campaign. We look forward to our members support in the quest for an All Ireland pennant.
