CLUB HISTORY

The final chapter in our looking back over the past 100 years! We moved to our new home in July 1993 and the progress has been remarkable. Our top-quality championship course, practice areas and clubhouse are owned and run by our members. Competitions are organised regularly throughout the year, and holiday times see the arrival of many welcome visitors. In addition to hosting Golf Ireland competitions and major fund-raising classics, our club attracts golf societies from near and far. The club’s congenial atmosphere makes everybody heartily welcome, whether for golf, snooker, card games, or just to while away the time in pleasant surroundings; the club house has full bar and catering facilities, along with ample parking area. We have a fully stocked Professional’s Shop run by PGA Professional David Hayes; apart from purchase and repair of golf clubs and equipment, lessons may be arranged for both beginners and improvers. We have a thriving juvenile club and weekly junior lessons each Saturday are run by David Hayes. We look forward to the future of our busy club and look forward to welcoming you all to share in our celebratory events this year. We thank everyone who has played a part in getting our club to where it is today. The future is bright!

Changes to Course Handicap from April 1st 2024

Course Rating Minus Par Adjustment. One of the biggest changes being made in GB&I is to the Course Handicap calculation. The Course Handicap calculation will now take into account the difference between the Course Rating and the Par of the course, so instead of playing to the Course Rating, you will be playing to Par.  If the Course Rating is higher than par, you will receive more shots. If the Course Rating is lower than par, you will receive not as many shots. New Tables showing your Course and playing handicaps will be printed and take effect from April 1st 2024 Download the Golf Ireland App and log in using your membership number and pin to keep up to date with changes. If you need to find out your pin please contact the office.
