GET INTO GOLF PROGRAMME

Due to the adverse weather conditions, we have made the decision to postpone the start date of our Get into Golf Programme until further notice. Our Information evening will also be deferred to a later date in April. Hopefully we see improvements in the weather and we can get all our eager Get Into Golf men and ladies out on our course.

There are a few places available in both our Men’s & Ladies groups.  If you are a beginner to golf then this is the course for you! We will hold four weekly group lessons with our Pro David Hayes, followed by four weeks on course practice all for just €50. It is a great way to meet new people and lots of fun guaranteed. If you are interested, please email us office@dungarvangolfclub.com or call the office to reserve your place.

LAUNCH OF LOTTO 6

It is that time of the year to check the renewal of your annual €90.00 ticket. Lotto 1,2 3,4 and 5 has proved to be a great success to date and the lotto committee would like to thank members for supporting this necessary fundraiser for the important works which have been carried out on the course thus far. The Lotto Committee would request your continued support by renewing your annual ticket for the coming year, or purchase one for the first time.

If you purchase the annual €90.00 ticket for Lotto 6 on or before the 30th April 2024 you will be eligible for a draw for the following:
1. Chamber voucher for €100.00.
2. A free extra annual €90.00 lotto ticket.
3. A meal for two at Dungarvan Golf Club.

HOME ALLIANCE

Just a reminder to anyone in our Home Alliance please enter your name on the Home Alliance slot on the timesheet for Saturday 6^th April. Closing date is Tuesday 2^nd April at 4pm. Draw for partners will take place on Wednesday and will be posted on line.

EASTER JUNIOR COMPETITIONS

Our next Junior competition is on Wednesday 3^rd April. Timesheets are live so book your tee time. We hope to see you all on the course.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP 2024

Our Junior Membership year commences from 1^st April. If your child would like to join as a junior member, please contact the office as we have great joining rates of €70 for ages 6 – 12 and €100 for ages 13 -18 (plus €7 Golf Ireland Levy). Please email office@dungarvangolfclub.com for an application form. Children will have great fun at Dungarvan Golf Club, learn to play golf, make new friends and develop life skills.

Our popular weekly Saturday lessons for juniors will commence in April (weather depending). These group lessons with our PRO David Hayes are great fun and our Juniors learn so much each week.

A reminder to our Junior members that subscriptions for 2024 are now due for payment.

This year we celebrate 100 years of Dungarvan Golf Club and we want you to be a part of it! We have a great joining rate for new members €400 (+ €28 Golf Ireland fee) for the first year. We also have Country Membership, Student, Junior and family rates available.

Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. We have a range of competitions and casual golf options for all types of golfers.

Our beautiful bar and restaurant is very popular, Tom and his team serve delicious breakfasts, lunches and evening meals daily.  We have plenty of social events throughout the year and also weekly bridge, cards and poker nights along with book clubs, day trips and visits to other golf courses. SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Our next Sunday social scramble is on Sunday 7^th April with a shotgun start at 4pm. If you are free and would like to play nine holes of social golf why not join us. It is great fun and a great way to meet others. Booking has opened. Just go online and book your place.

MENS CLUB FOURSOMES

A reminder that members are invited to enter the Men’s Club Foursomes (Scotch) competition. The format is Matchplay & pick your own partner. Entry fee is €20 per pair and deadline for entry is Sunday 14th April. Sign the sheet on the notice board in the men’s locker room, put €20 in an envelope and post it with your names into the 9 Hole box in the locker room. The draw will take place on Wednesday 17th April. Special thank you to The Lady Belle pub for sponsoring this competition.

YOUNGONES

We had no competition last week due to rain. We are back this Wednesday 3^rd from 11am – 12.30pm.

60.COM

We had no 60.Com competition on Wednesday 27th March due to the continuous rain. Hopefully the weather will improve in the coming weeks to allow us to get back to normal golf. We are all looking forward to a little hop on the ground. We will be back next week. If you’re interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, put your name on the timesheet and join us any Wednesday.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto draw on Friday, 29th March. This was Week 46 of 52.
The numbers drawn were 2, 4, 17 and 19. The jackpot was €6,700, and there was no winner.
The jackpot is €6,800 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner – Jim Quinn – who wins €100.

Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website www.dungarvangolfclub.com or in the clubhouse. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. All funds raised are used to develop our course. Our next draw is on Friday 5^th April.

FRIDAY BRIDGE

Everyone is welcome to our weekly bridge morning every Friday and it is a great social meeting place during the winter months. Bridge commences at 11am.
