GET INTO GOLF PROGRAMME

Due to the adverse weather conditions, we have made the decision to postpone the start date of our Get into Golf Programme until further notice. Our Information evening will also be deferred to a later date in April. Hopefully we see improvements in the weather and we can get all our eager Get Into Golf men and ladies out on our course.

There are a few places available in both our Men’s & Ladies groups.  If you are a beginner to golf then this is the course for you! We will hold four weekly group lessons with our Pro David Hayes, followed by four weeks on course practice all for just €50. It is a great way to meet new people and lots of fun guaranteed. If you are interested, please email us office@dungarvangolfclub.com or call the office to reserve your place.

LADIES START OF SEASON SCRAMBLE

The weather let us down last Tuesday, just when it was too late to cancel the start of season scramble. There were a lot of hours spent behind the scenes earlier in the day getting things ready; the draw was done, prizes bought and Tom was busy in the kitchen finalising his Cajun Chicken.

Many thanks to all who made contact to say they couldn’t make it, but a special thanks to those who did come, hoping to hear that we were not going out. All stayed for coffee in the bar, looking at the rain, and we all enjoyed the Cajun Chicken.  I hear some was even purchased as a takeaway dish so nothing went to waste.  All we needed to complete the atmosphere was a sing-song! Thanks to all, and the diary is so busy that we are unlikely to have another chance to reschedule.  Maybe next year!!

YOUNGONES

We were back in action last Wednesday 3rd April with winner on the day Mary Buckley (30) 14pts. Our next competition is on 10th April from 11 – 12.30pm.

60.COM

We had a smaller than normal field of players for our 60.com on Wednesday 3rd April. While the weather on the day was lovely the course was playing long due to the ongoing rain. Despite these conditions the scores were terrific. The winners were: 1st Pat McCarthy 21pts, 2nd Mossie Walsh 19pts. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.
