CAPTAINS DRIVE IN

Our Captains Drive in is taking place on Sunday 16^th March at 2pm followed by a 9-hole scramble shotgun start at 2.30pm. Entry Fee is €10 cash and €5 for juniors which includes food after golf. Closing date for entry is Friday 14^th at 8pm. We hope you can all join us on this special day for Captain Edward Moynihan and Lady Captain Bernie Lynch and Junior Captain AJ Hayes.

ST PATRICKS DAY OPEN SCRAMBLE

The timesheet is open for bookings for our always popular bank holiday Monday Scramble. Join us on Monday 17^th March for a 14H three person Champagne Scramble. Book online or call the office on 058-43310.

TABLE QUIZ

We are holding a Table Quiz this Wednesday 5th March at 7pm in the clubhouse. We hope you can attend and bring a friend – all welcome! Teams of 4 and €10pp. This is a fundraiser for the Ladies Inter Club Teams. We have the great Bob O’Brien as quizmaster and lots of prizes to be won. Poster attached to share.

SE JUNIOR ALLIANCE

Club Member Sean McGovern held his Captains Day for the South East Junior Alliance last Sunday 2^nd March. There was a great turnout on the day with lovely weather, great golf and delicious food afterwards. Thanks to everyone who visited us on the day.

JUNIOR GOLF

Our Junior Golf season starts on 1^st April and we welcome all the new Juniors joining us this year. Our Junior Convenor David Hayes and his committee have great plans for junior golf this year from lessons to on course practice and weekly competitions in the summer. If you have a child aged 6 and upwards who would like to try golf or improve their golf then Dungarvan Golf Club’s Junior Club is a great way to make friends and learn golf skills with our golf PRO David. Give us a call to request an application form and join up for 2025.

Join for €430 + €28 Golf Ireland fee for the year. Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. We have a range of competitions and casual golf options for all types of golfers. YOUNGONES

We celebrated our 20^th Anniversary of the Youngones last Wednesday. Over 40 ladies played and there was great buzz in the clubhouse with everyone enjoying chat with friends old and new. Tea, coffee and beautiful desserts were served thanks to Tom and his team. Thank you to everyone who was involved with starting the Youngones 20 years ago and special thank you goes to Marianne Mulcahy who organises this competition each week and all the great outings every year, she is a star!

60.COM

Underfoot condition were poor on Wednesday 26 Feb following a deluge of rain – despite this we had the largest turnout of the year for our 60.com. The scoring was excellent. The winners were: 1^st Pat Morrissey 20pts, 2^nd Martin Walsh 19pts, 3^rd Mossie Walsh 18pts

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Last Friday morning the course was closed at 9am due to heavy frost the night before. So our foursomes didn’t take place. We are back this Friday (Mar 7) and hopefully all will be good to go. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes with a shotgun start at 9am. It is a real social event with a coffee and chat in the clubhouse later. If you are free and would like to join us, please go online and book your place.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Our next social scramble takes place on Sunday March 23 with a shotgun start at 4pm. If you are free, we would love to see you join us. The evenings will be brighter and consequently a later start. All members are welcome to join us.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 28^th February. The numbers drawn were 1, 3, 15 and 18. The jackpot was €5,900, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €6,000 for the next draw. We had no match 3 winners this week. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. Tickets can be purchased on our website or in our clubhouse. All funds raised are used to develop our course.

PRO SHOP

As we eagerly await the start of the season, our Pro Shop is gearing up. David has all the latest releases from the major golf manufacturers. Ping have launched the new G440 range while Taylor Made have a new Qi35 range. Mizuno have updated their fitting system to include custom fitted wedges, all are available in David’s Pro Shop. If you are contemplating upgrading your equipment, call to David for professional advice.
