OPEN FORTNIGHT

Our Open Fortnight starts this Friday 20^th June – Sunday 29^th June and timesheets are open for bookings online. We have a great variety of competitions to choose from with Scrambles, Singles, Fourball, Waltz’s and Rumbles all featuring along with a Junior competitions on Thursday 26^th.

GET INTO GOLF 2025
We had a very successful Get into Golf Gala / Information evening last Monday.
David Hayes our PGA Professional opened the meeting complimenting all our new golfers on completing phase one of the programme. He also encouraged them to enjoy their golf and have fun. Colette Power then went through phase two of the programme and outlined their entitlements and expectations going forward. All the Get into Golf committee were in attendance and were available to answer questions as they arose.We also set up a ‘buddy system’ whereby each committee member is responsible for two Get into Golf members.

Tom Daly and his staff in the bar play a vital role in the social side of the programme and Monday evening was no exception. They provided very welcome hot finger food at the end of the evening. We were delighted with the enthusiasm of this Get into Golf group with all of them signing on for Phase Two. We look forward to working with them and making their time enjoyable in Dungarvan Golf Club. Going forward Wednesday and Thursday evenings will be booked specifically for Get into Golf ladies and men. If you can spare an hour please come along and help.

JUNIOR NEWS

Another fantastic turnout for our Saturday junior golf lessons with 44 nippers taking to the practice ground. Thanks to Alan Thomas, Craig Susdorf, James Hayes & Liam Browne for their invaluable assistance. Lessons continue next Saturday at 3pm. If you are available to lend a hand, please contact our Junior Convenor David Hayes. You will enjoy the experience, and you might learn something.

Next Saturday 21^st June, we take our Prejunior and junior members onto the course at 4pm for an hour. We aim to teach course etiquette and how to navigate the course quickly and safely, Places are limited to members, so please contact David if you wish your junior golfer to be included.

Our Junior competitions continue next Wednesday and timesheet is now open. Congrats to Donnchadh Callaghan on winning last weeks competition with a great score of 42 points. Donnchadh won by 4 from Barry Fennell.

The latest version of our Junior Rules are now posted in the locker rooms. Please familiarise yourself with these Rules so you can play our course safely and have some fun.

MARY MCKENNA MATCH

Hard luck to our Mary McKenna team who were beaten by Tipperary GC last Thursday in the second leg of the competition. Thank you to all the team and team managers for representing our club so well.

MINOR FOURSOMES WIN

Our Minor foursomes won round three last Saturday playing against Lismore GC at home. Congratulations to all the team and managers. We now face the winners of Tramore and Goldcoast in round four.

JUNIOR CUP WIN

Congratulations to our Junior Cup team and management on their win against Lismore GC last Saturday. We now move onto the next round!

WOMENS MUNSTER TROPHY

Last Sunday 15th our Womens Munster Trophy team travelled to Tramore GC to play the Women’s Munster Trophy. It wasn’t our day and Tramore were victorious. Thank you to all our team and managers for representing our club so well.

60. COM

We had an overflowing timesheet on Wednesday 11 June for our 60.com competition. The conditions were excellent and the scoring was “top notch”. If you’re interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 13^th of June. The numbers drawn were 1, 7, 13 and 15. The jackpot was €7,400, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €7,500 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner Stephen Greene who wins €200 as there was no match 3 winner last week. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
