JUNIOR NEWS

Another hectic week for our Juniors as we headed in several directions. Our Interclub team of Barry Fennell, Donnchadh Callaghan, Kieran Poland, Luke Walsh and Cathal McKenna headed for Mitchelstown. Despite our best efforts and Donnchadh’s eagle 2 on the last, we finished with 102 points in midfield. Our Fred Daly team of Mattie Mullaney, AJ Hayes, Patrick Mullaney, Rory McKeown and James O’Donnell headed for Cobh to face Cobh in difficult conditions. After a sloppy start we found our rhythm with the boys producing some wonderful golf. Mattie finished with three straight birdies to close out his match. AJ made eagle on the last to secure his victory with Rory, Paddy and James closing out a whitewash! Our boys are in action again next Saturday when we face Castlemartyr in the Irish Junior Foursomes. The match tees off at 5pm and if you want to see some fantastic golf, come out and support us.

Our Deise League kicked off at Waterford Castle with Cathal McKenna being our star performer taking second place. This week we are off to Tramore. Thanks to all our transport providers especially June & Declan. Our Pre Junior competitions kick off this Wednesday 2nd July. Timesheets are live so book your time. Saturday lessons continue at 3pm. If your child is 6 years of age or older come along. All equipment is provided. Thanks to Niamh, Alan, James, Michael and David for their invaluable assistance. Any junior enquiries please contact David Hayes on 058-44707. Please contact the office to join up for Junior Membership which is €107 for age 13 – 18 and €82 for age 6 – 12.
