LADY CAPTAINS PRIZE 2025
The Lady Captains Prize kindly presented by Bernie Lynch will be played on Saturday 26th July and Sunday 27th July 2025. The competition draw sheet is open for bookings online. Two 18-hole stroke rounds will be played and the aggregate score over the two rounds will determine the overall winner. An 18-hole S/F competition for non-eligible members or those unable to play both days will be held on Saturday afternoon July 26th. A 9 Hole S/F qualifier is available on Saturday 26th also. A 9 Hole GIG S/F competition will be held on the Sunday afternoon. This competition is open to all Get into Golf players who have not previously entered an 18-hole S/F competition. A putting competition for new GIG members (2025) will be held on Sunday afternoon at approx. 3 pm. Entry fee €2. Please add your name to the list in locker room if you wish to take part in putting competition. All members and their families are invited to the presentation of prizes at 8pm on Sunday 27th July.
LADY CAPTAINS SCRAMBLE
The Lady Captains Scramble is on Wednesday 23rd July with a shotgun start at 6.30pm. Entry is €10 for Adults and €5 for Juniors and includes food after golf. Please add your name on timesheet any time between 2.30 – 6.20pm.JUNIOR NEWS
A fantastic turnout again last Saturday for our junior lessons. Thanks to Alan O’Donnell, James Hayes, Michael Talbot and Grace Hayes for their invaluable assistance. If your nipper is aged 6 and over, fancies trying golf, bring them along Saturdays at 3pm. Lessons cost €5 per nipper and all equipment is provided.
Our junior competitions continue next Wednesday 16th July. Juniors tee off from 10am, while our pre-junior boys and girls tee off at 10.50am. Please add your name to the time sheet, entry fee €5.

SENIOR MENS INTERCLUB TEAM
Our Senior Mens InterClub team are at home against Williamstown on Saturday, 19th July. The first match tees off at 2.20pm. It is Round 3 of this year’s competition for the Vincent Nevin Trophy. The format is 5 x Fourball matches for men aged 50+. Support welcome.
SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Our next social scramble is scheduled for this Sunday (Jul 20). Shotgun start at 5pm or as soon as All Ireland hurling final is over! Timesheet is open and is filling up quickly. Please enter your name between 15.30pm and 16.50pm.These scrambles are open to all members regardless of whether you have an official handicap or not. The scrambles are great fun and an ideal way to meet other members and learn the rules of golf and course etiquette. Entry 5€(adults) and 2€ (juveniles).

We had tropical weather on Wednesday 9th July for our 60.com – sunscreen was the order of the day. The course was in excellent condition and the balls were “running a mile”!

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Weather conditions are ideal at the moment with our timesheet full each day. Thanks to our course staff for doing such an excellent job in maintaining our course and keeping it in excellent condition. GET INTO GOLF 2025Most of our new golfers are busy completing cards for handicaps. If you are free and would like to help, please contact any member of the Get into Golf Committee. They would love to hear from you. This year’s group are really enthusiastic and anxious to move on and can be seen regularly practicing on our golf course. It is a pleasure to work with them and see them progress.

LOTTO RESULTS
We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday July 11th. The numbers drawn were 15, 17, 21 and 25. The jackpot was €7,800, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €7,900 for the next draw. We had three match 3 winners – Mary Phelan, Niamh Briggs and Michael Brackett – who win €34 each.
All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
