LADY CAPTAINS PRIZE 2025
Our Lady Captains Prize place over the weekend. Congratulations to Maisie Breen on winning the Lady Captains Prize and to all those who won the most beautiful prizes kindly presented by our wonderful Lady Captain Bernie Lynch. The weather was glorious over the weekend. The sun was shining, and everyone complimented how fantastic the course was thanks to our hard-working greenkeepers.
On Sunday night we had the presentation of prizes and the huge turnout of ladies ensured
a fantastic atmosphere around the clubhouse. Thank you to Tom and all his team in the bar
for their hard work all weekend. Our Clubhouse was filled with beautiful floral arrangements, special thanks to everyone who helped with this. Thank you to our Pro Shop and Office Staff for all their assistance. Congratulations to Bernie and all the ladies committee on such a well organised event.

JUNIOR NEWS
It turned into a most wonderful week for Junior Golf at Dungarvan Golf Club. Last Tuesday our Fred Daly team set off in earnest to Cobh to play East Munster Finals. Faithlegg stood in our way for the morning semi final but our team of Mattie Mullaney, AJ Hayes, Rory McKeown, Patrick Mullaney and James O’Donnell came out of the blocks quickly. Mattie made a birdie and eagle in the first four holes, AJ birdied three of the first four while Rory birdied three of the first five. After that explosive start, we cruised to a convincing victory winning the first three matches. Patrick and James were winning when called in.
In the final, we faced Douglas but again our boys were up to the task. AJ made seven birdies in his victory, Rory made five while our tail gunners, Patrick and James, were doing the business at the rear. It fell to Patrick to hole an eight-footer on seventeen and he duly obliged to send us to the All-Ireland Finals in Donabate in a few weeks! Next up we have the Munster East Finals in Clonmel in the Irish Junior Foursomes. Hopefully we can repeat our brilliant play and secure another All-Ireland place.
On the home front, Kieran Poland took the honours from Barry Fennell in our home competition while Will Browne took the honours in the Pre Junior Competition.
Last Friday we hosted the Deise League with 52 entries from all over the Count. Donncha McEnery took the spoils with 41pts. Well done to our junior James O’Donnell who won the Lady Captains Prize to the Gents over the weekend.
