We are delighted to host the Golf Ireland Regional Finals of the Senior Men’s Inter- Club (Vincent Nevin Trophy), Munster Women’s Ann Heskin Trophy and Munster Women’s Challenge Trophy on Sunday 5th October. Below times for each competition.

COMPETITION PURSE
Emails have been sent to all members with information on the introduction of our Competition Purse on BRS. The purse is being introduced, on a phased basis, when booking tee times for the following competition dates in October:Friday October 3rd to Sunday October 5th (Tee times go live this evening at 18.40pm)Friday October 10th to Sunday October 12thFriday October 17th to Sunday October 19thFriday October 24th to Sunday October 26thThe Competition Purse will be used to pay competition fees when booking a tee time on the BRS. It is part of the BRS system that we use for booking tee times. Once you book your tee time, a “pending charge” of the competition fee will be levied against the Purse balance. It is important to top up your Competition Purse in advance, to pay for competition entry fees.This is available on the BRS app. Select Competition Purse from the dropdown menu. It is easy to add an amount to the purse by following the guideline and it takes less than a minute to do so.

JUNIOR NEWS
We had our last Junior lesson for the year was on Saturday. It was wonderful to see over 50 juniors enjoy the last lesson with such enthusiasm. From our first junior lesson in April to our last it has been an epic summer of Junior Golf. Special thank our Pro David Hayes and all the volunteers for their time, energy and enthusiasm they gave to our Juniors. Without a doubt 2025 has been a bumper year in our club for Junior Golf we were inundated with new junior members!! Juniors are our future and the future is bright!
Our next Pre Junior tournament is taking place on Sunday 28th September. It is a team event with a shotgun start at 4.45pm. Please enter your name on the timesheet and David will draw teams. Everyone will tee off at 4.45pm with a presentation to follow.

BRONZE MEDAL
Congratulations to Ann Marie O’Byrne who came 5th in the bronze medal qualifier in Mallow on 4th September. She now heads to Headford GC for the All-Ireland final on Wednesday 1st October. Best wishes from everyone in the club!
SOCIETY 2026 BOOKING OFFER
Book your 2026 society with us before the end of December 2025 and you will receive our 2025 green fee rate, dozen crested Dungarvan Golf Club golf balls and four greenfees to use as prizes. We had our final outing of 2025 in Youghal Golf Club on Wednesday 17 September. We had a great attendance, excellent weather and great fun on the day. The scoring was terrific.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t kind to us last Friday morning and our foursomes had to be cancelled. A huge thanks to Anne Heneberry who kindly stepped in to run the event.This week is Open Week in Dungarvan Golf Club. There will be no Fun Friday Foursomes as we would encourage everyone to support the various other competitions available.We will be back on Fri Oct 3. Shotgun start at 9am. All are welcome.
GET INTO GOLF 2025
The refresher golf lessons with our PGA Professional David Hayes concluded last Wednesday evening. The participants were high in their praise of the lessons and can’t wait to get back on the course to practice and implement all they have learned. Well done David on your encouragement and support for the Get into Golf programme.
LOTTO
We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 19th. The numbers drawn were 18, 19, 21 and 28. The jackpot was €2,200, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €2,300 for the next draw. We had no match 3 winner this week. All funds are directed to course improvement projects All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
BOOK SALE
Please save the date and your unwanted books for Dungarvan Golf Club’s Book Sale. It will take place in the Clubhouse on the 7th, 8th and 9th November. All funds raised will go towards our Clubhouse Lift Fundraiser. Further details to follow.
