From the first day to the last our Open Week was a resounding success for the club. The weather was glorious each day, we were so lucky! Thank you to all our members for supporting this important week. We welcomed a huge number of visitors over the seven days. It was great to see the team members who are playing here in the Golf Ireland regional finals this weekend enter so many of our open competitions.

COMPETITION PURSE

Emails have been sent to all members with information on the introduction of our Competition Purse on BRS. The purse is being introduced, on a phased basis, when booking tee times for the following competition dates in October:
Friday October 3rd to Sunday October 5th
Friday October 10th to Sunday October 12th
Friday October 17th to Sunday October 19th
Friday October 24th to Sunday October 26th
The Competition Purse will be used to pay competition fees when booking a tee time on the BRS.

JUNIOR NEWS

We held a Pre Junior competition on Sunday and we had a large entry of enthusiastic boys and girls take to the fairways playing a 9H scramble. LADIES TRIP TO WOODENBRIDGE & BUNCLODY

Our Lady Captain Bernie has organised a two day trip to Woodenbridge GC and Bunclody GC this week and we hope all the ladies and Bernie have a great few days away.

We had no 60.com competition on Wednesday 24 Sept due to the Open Week taking place. Back this week!

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES

Due to our very successful Open Week, we had no Fun Friday Foursomes last Friday. We are back this week (Fri Oct 3). Shotgun start at 9 am. We play 9 holes of Scotch Foursomes and we play the back 9. It is a real social event finishing in time for morning coffee in the clubhouse. If you are new to the club, it is a great way to meet other members. All are welcome.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Our next social scramble is scheduled for Sunday Oct 12. Shotgun start at 4pm. Booking has opened. If you are free and would like to join us, just go online and book a slot between 14.30pm and 15.50pm. The scrambles are open to all members including juniors. They are great fun and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

GET INTO GOLF 2025
Well done to Bernie Butler on winning the Get into Golf 9 hole competition last week. Beginning on Oct 11 this competition will be held on Saturday afternoon beginning at 2pm. This is due to failing light and the approach of Winter. Booking has opened. Well done also to Brian Kennedy who won this weeks A-Tec nine-hole competition.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 26^th Sept. The numbers drawn were 18, 22, 25 and 28. The jackpot was €2,300, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €2,400 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner, Frances Millerick. As there was no match 3 winner last week Frances wins €200.  All funds are directed to course improvement projects All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.

BOOK SALE

Please save the date and your unwanted books for Dungarvan Golf Club’s Book Sale. It will take place in the Clubhouse on the 7th, 8th and 9th November. All funds raised will go towards our Clubhouse Lift Fundraiser. Further details to follow.
