SAMARITANS FUNDRAISING SCRAMBLE
Our 60. com and Younonges are holding a 9H scramble fundraiser this Wednesday 19th November in aid of the Samaritans. All members are welcome and we hope you can support this very worthy cause. Shotgun start at 1pm with tea/coffee and a chat after golf. Cash only for entries please.
WINTER RULES
From the 14th November the following Winter playing conditions apply:1) Abnormal Ground Conditions – If you and your playing partners agree that on making a stroke that your ball is still in play and cannot be located in the rough or on the fairway then you can drop and place a ball in the approximate location that you expected your ball to be.2) If your ball is in play, you may lift, clean and place, in rough or fairway, within 6 inches not nearer the hole.3) Bunkers are out of play until further notice a)Lift, clean and place, outside the bunker, not nearer the hole, in line with your location in the bunker and the flag. No penalty is incurred in complying with any of these three conditions.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Our next social scramble is scheduled for this Sunday (Nov 23). Shotgun start at 1.30pm. These scrambles are real social events and are a great way to meet other club members. They are open to all members including juveniles. Booking is open. Just go online and book your place. They are great fun. Our Christmas Scramble is scheduled for Sun Dec 7. Keep the date free. It will have a Christmas theme and refreshments will be served to all participants. Shotgun start at 1.30 pm.
ENTRANCE GATE UPDATE
Please be advised that there will be some disruption at the main gate from 9am to 10am and from 1pm to 2pm on Friday 21st November due to works on the gate. Members will be unable to enter or leave the club during those periods. This is the first stage of automating the gate.
GET INTO GOLF 2025Our ladies Get into Golf 9 hole competition is scheduled for next Saturday (Nov 22) starting at 2pm. It is great to see our new ladies participating each week and enjoying the golf.Golf Connect (helping new members to meet others) is becoming very popular. Time slots for this are available each Saturday from 2.30 pm -3 pm.
SOCIETY OFFER 2026
Book your 2026 society with us before the end of December 2025 and you will receive our 2025 green fee rate, dozen crested Dungarvan Golf Club golf balls and four greenfees to use as prizes. This offer applies midweek and weekends for groups of 16 or more golfers. Call the office or email us for your preferred date.
JUNIOR/PRE JUNIOR COMPETITION
Our next Junior and Pre Junior competition is on Sunday 21st December. The format is Ryder Cup and our team captains are Rory McKeown & Donnchadh Callaghan. The timesheet is open for bookings and we encourage our Pre Junior and Junior Members to book in. It is a 9H competition – shotgun start at 2pm. Entry is €10 which includes food after golf.

We had no 60. com competition on Wednesday 12 November due to rain. This Wednesday we have a fundraising scramble for the Samaritans, supported by both the Young Ones and 60. com. Hopefully you will all support this worthy cause.
FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMESThere was very little golf played last week due to continuous heavy rain. Forecast is much better this week so hopefully we can run with our foursomes event this Friday (Nov 21).Please note that our entrance gate is being automated this Friday which means you need to be at the clubhouse at 8.45am. No one can enter between 9am and 10 am. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes with a shotgun start at 9am. We play the back nine holes and we are finished in time for morning coffee in the clubhouse. All members are welcome.
LOTTO
We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 14th November. The numbers drawn were 5, 9, 14 and 23. The jackpot was €3,000, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €3,100 for the next draw. We had four match 3 winners – Maria Kiersey, Marianne Mulcahy, Mairead Flynn and Larry Fahy – who win €25 each. All funds are directed to course improvement projects All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
