LIONS CLUB FUNDRAISER

All proceeds from Friday 5^th, Saturday 6^th and Sunday 7^th December competitions will go to the annual Dungarvan Lions Club fundraiser. We appeal to all members to come out and support this very important fundraiser. If you are not available to play, we will have donation buckets in the clubhouse all week. Thank you for supporting.

CHRISTMAS SUNDAY SCRAMBLE
Our Christmas Scramble is scheduled for next Sunday (Dec 7).
Shotgun start at 1.30 pm This scramble is open to all members including juveniles. Timesheet is open but remember it closes at 5pm on Saturday evening (Dec 6) to facilitate draw.  This is the last social scramble of 2025. Why not join us and have some fun. Refreshments will be served in the bar later.

LADIES CHRISTMAS COMPETITION

On Tuesday 16th December we are holding a Christmas 11H Singles S/F competition.
This will be a SHOTGUN START AT 11AM.
– Please add your name to the timesheet any time between 8.50am – 11.10am.
– No draw
– Penalties and Categories suspended for the day
– Prizes & Spot prizes
To help us celebrate the season, we encourage everyone to wear their Christmas jumper and hat, there will be a prize for the most festively dressed lady! Tea/Coffee and Mince Pies after golf €5. We look forward to a fun and festive day of golf!

Dungarvan Golf Club provides a welcoming and vibrant environment for golfers of all levels. Our well-stocked Pro Shop caters to all equipment needs, and our PGA Professional, David Hayes, is on hand to offer expert guidance, lessons, and support for both beginners and experienced players. Members can enjoy a wide range of competitions as well as casual golf tailored to every type of golfer. Our bar and restaurant serve delicious breakfasts, lunches, and evening meals daily, making it a favourite gathering place within the club.

Beyond golf, we host a rich calendar of social activities, including weekly bridge, cards, book clubs, knitting groups, day trips, and visits to other golf courses. MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTION INVOICES

Over the coming weeks the office will be emailing invoices to all members for 2026 Membership Subscriptions (excluding Juniors/Pre Juniors). Subscriptions can be paid in full or spread out over 10 months via the Membership section on your BRS Golf.

Subscriptions to be paid in full or a BRS payment plan set up by 31st January 2025 please.

Payments can also be taken in the office or over the phone.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
We had a torrential shower of rain last Friday morning just as we prepared to take entries for the competition. We didn’t have enough to run the competition but those who braved the elements had great fun and were back in time to enjoy morning coffee in the comforts of the clubhouse. Hopefully we will be back next Friday morning weather permitting. Shotgun start at 9 am. All are welcome.

GET INTO GOLF 2025
Our Get into Golf programme is going from strength to strength with a waiting list in place for 2026. As well as providing lessons for them with David Hayes, our PGA professional, we also organise ongoing competitions and events throughout the year.  This year’s group are really enthusiastic and I have no doubt they will all sign on for Year One in January.

60. COM

The course conditions were tough and the course was playing long for our 60. com competition on Wednesday 26 Nov. Despite the ongoing rain the course was solid underfoot – as the excellent results show.

The 60. com Christmas party takes place on the 10th of December. The booking sheet will go on the notice board shortly. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

YOUNGONES

A few ladies braved the not so pleasant weather last Wednesday. 1^st Kolette Enright (26) 17pts. We are back this Wed 3^rd from 11am.

JUNIOR/PRE JUNIOR COMPETITION

Our next Junior and Pre Junior competition is on Sunday 21^st December. The format is Ryder Cup and our team captains are Rory McKeown & Donnchadh Callaghan. The timesheet is open for bookings and we encourage our Pre Junior and Junior Members to book in. It is a 9H competition – shotgun start at 2pm. Entry is €10 which includes food after golf.

SOCIETY OFFER 2026

Book your 2026 society with us before the end of December 2025 and you will receive our 2025 green fee rate, dozen crested Dungarvan Golf Club golf balls and four greenfees to use as prizes. This offer applies midweek and weekends for groups of 16 or more golfers. Call the office or email us for your preferred date.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 28^th Nov. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 16 and 23. The jackpot was €3,200, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €3,300 for the next draw. We had three match 3 winners – Sam O’Connell, Barry Morrissey and John Morgan – who win €34 each. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.

PRO SHOP

Resident Professional David has all the latest offerings from the major brands including the Qi35 from TaylorMade, M Craft putters from Mizuno and much more. As always David offers professional advice so ensure you get the most out of your game.

BRIDGE

All are welcome to play bridge every Friday at 11am in our clubhouse.
