AILEEN CARROLL RIP

We were all deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of club member Aileen Carroll. Aileen was a much-valued member and she will be sadly missed by all her friends here at the club. We extend our sincere condolences to her husband Conor and to all their family at this very sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

A reminder of the Parent Club AGM which takes place this Wednesday 25^th February at 7.30am.

CAPTAINS DRIVE IN

The timesheet is now open for the Captain’s Drive-In and 9-Hole Scramble, taking place on Sunday, 8th March. The Drive-In will begin at 2:00pm, followed by a 9-Hole Scramble at 2:30pm (shotgun start). We hope you can join our Captains Patrick Cumiskey, Lady Captain Carmel Fox and Junior Captain James O’Donnell, as we celebrate the start of their year and wish them every success for the year ahead.

MENS SPRING LEAGUE

The Men’s Club Spring League begins on Monday, 2^nd March and runs until the end of April. Entry is €20 (submit in a brown envelope with your name and handicap by 28^th February). Each 14-hole round costs €6. The competition will have four handicap categories, with your best five scores counting. The top two in each category qualify for the play-offs in early May, with the winners advancing to the final. We look forward to a great Spring League!

MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS

A reminder that membership subscriptions are now due. We kindly ask members to make payment online via their BRS account. Alternatively, please contact the office — we are happy to take payment over the phone or in person. Junior Invoices will be sent out in March.

GET INTO GOLF 2026

Presently we are working on our Get into Golf programme in readiness for our new season. We will run a programme for men and for women. There is a huge interest in golf at the moment as we put into place a ‘waiting list’ for 2027.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Our next Social Scramble is this Sunday Mar 1. Shotgun start at 3pm. These scrambles are open to all members including juveniles.  If you would like to be part of the fun just go online and book your place between 13.30 and 14.50. It is a lovely way to spend your Sunday afternoon if you are free. We would love to see you there.

GOLF LESSONS
These lessons are happening each Monday night in Tinhalla driving range under the guidance of our PGA Professional David Hayes. The lessons have proven to be a huge success with a second set beginning this week. We are indebted to David Hayes for facilitating the lessons which come at an ideal time to help members improve their golf before the season begins.

This is a social event. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes and we play the back nine holes. Shotgun start at 9am. We finish just in time for morning coffee in the clubhouse. If you are new to the club, it is a great way to meet other members and have fun. All are welcome.

The 60. com was cancelled again on Wednesday 18 Feb due to continuous rain during the day. Back this week – hopefully!

We are back this Wednesday and really hope we get the weather!! There are a few spaces available on the timesheet.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 20^th February. The numbers drawn were 2, 13, 18 and 26. The jackpot was €4,400, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €4,500 for the next draw. We had four match three winners – Bernie Lynch, Teresa Hayes, Mary Power and Declan O Sullivan – who win €25 each. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.

We have limited weekend dates available this summer for golf societies, with excellent midweek rates also on offer.
