LIFT INSTALLED

The lift installation in our clubhouse was finally completed on Friday 3^rd April. Hopefully the lift will provide help and comfort for those who need it most. The management committee has been working hard to have this completed for almost two years. We have many people to thank for their assistance and encouragement and without their continued support the project would not have been possible. A special thank you to Pat Power for leading the project and for the time and commitment he generously gave throughout.

We received a grant under the Sports Capital Grant Scheme. We thank Minister Mary Butler for her guidance and support of our application. In addition, we collected over €27,000 from fundraising from our members and committees. Thank you to each and every one of our members and friends of Dungarvan Golf Club for their donations and fundraising activities. Fundraising included a Book Sale, Bridge Club donations, 45 Card players donations, Classic and Scrambles.

A special thank you to John Regan and his staff for their excellent building work and to Premier Lifts for the installation. All the above made the project possible and resulted in a successful completion of the development. We are very grateful for all the support and encouragement that members gave us through the past two years.

MAY BANK HOLIDAY SCRAMBLE

The timesheet is open for our next bank holiday scramble on Monday 4th May. Team of 3 – any combination. Rate is €8 members and €25 visitors.

GET INTO GOLF 2026

The clubhouse was packed with ladies and men for our information night last Monday. It is amazing the interest that is in golf at the moment. John Dempsey and Colette Power outlined the various stages involved in the programme supported by the Get into Golf Committee.  David Hayes our PGA Professional will be very busy for the next few weeks giving lessons as we have six separate groups of potential golfers. We are looking forward to working with our new golfers.

JUNIOR GOLF NEWS

Our Junior Lessons recommenced last Saturday and what a turnout there was! 81 eager junior golfers enjoying the first lesson of the season. Our lessons will continue every Saturday and cost €5. SPRING CLASSIC

The timesheet is now open for our Open Spring Classic, taking place from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th May. Entry is €25 per person, with re-entry available for €15. There are fantastic prizes up for grabs! We would love your support for this event, and we hope you can invite friends along to take part as well.

The forecasted rain did not arrive for our 60.com on Wednesday 19 April. However, it was replaced by very strong winds – it had a significant effect on the scoring but we still managed to get some great scores. 1^st    Mossie Walsh 19pts, 2^{nd Sean} English 18pts, 3^rd Jim O’Mahony 17pts. YOUNGONES

We braved the elements last Wednesday for our weekly 9H competition. 1^st Lucy Frist (42) 14pts CB, 2^nd Colette O’Mahony (25) 14pts. The timesheet is almost full this week, our weekly competition is very popular!

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
It is wonderful to see new members partaking in the foursomes as it is a social event and an ideal way to meet other members in the club. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes and we play the back nine holes.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 17^th April. The numbers drawn were 3, 7, 20 and 26. The jackpot was €5,200, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €5,300 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner this week – Charlie Daly – as there was no match 3 winner last week Charlie wins €200.

All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
