JIM BYRNE RIP

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our long-standing club member, Jim Byrne. Jim will be greatly missed by his playing partners and his many friends in the club. We extend our sincere condolences to Ruth and all the family at this very sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

SPRING CLASSIC

The timesheet is open for our Open Spring Classic, taking place from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th May. Entry is €25 per person, with re-entry available for €15. There are fantastic prizes to be won!

OPEN LADIES TEAM OF 2

Our first Open Ladies 18 Hole Team of 2 competition of the year takes place on Tuesday, May 5^th. This event is kindly sponsored by Eurospar, and we sincerely thank them for their continued support of our club. Bookings are open online.

GET INTO GOLF 2026

Our programme for 2026 got under way last week for both ladies and men. David Hayes our PGA Professional was very busy providing lessons to six different groups of potential golfers. A huge thanks to Karen and Madeline in the office who processed all the application forms. Many thanks to our hardworking Get into Golf Committee who welcomed the new golfers and introduced them to the facilities of our club. The lessons with David will continue for four consecutive weeks after which they will be taken out on the golf course by our experienced members. It is a busy few weeks but we look forward to working with our new members.

SOUTH MUNSTER SENIORS

We are delighted to welcome the South Munster Seniors to our club on Wednesday, May 6^th. This marks the first of three outings for the year, and we’re looking forward to a fantastic day on the course. There are only a limited number of spaces still available.

JUNIOR GOLF NEWS

Thank you to Cathie, Oonagh, Rachel, Grace, James and Alan for all their assistance at our lessons on Saturday. Lessons will continue every Saturday and cost €5. PIERCE PURCELL

Our Pierce Purcell team played Lismore on Sunday and unfortunately it was not our day. Thank you to Lismore Golf Club for their hospitality. Hard luck to our team.

MIXED FOURBALL

Unfortunately, our team lost their match on Saturday to Faithlegg. It was a very close match with 2 wins per team and the result was decided by going down the 19th. Luck was against us, but everyone played their best.

The first 9H Get Into Golf competition of the year starts next Tuesday 28^th April.
The timesheet is open for bookings 6pm – 6.30pm. Entry is €2 cash. A great way to get back into the swing of things!

Our Youngones filled the timesheet last Wednesday and enjoyed 9 holes of golf. 1^st Mary Ryan (43) 17pts, 2^nd Colette O’Mahony (25) 14pts, 3^rd Carol Walsh (43) 14pts. We are back again this Wednesday 29^th from 10.40am.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
It felt like Summer last Friday morning for our foursomes. There was a great buzz around the foyer as we welcomed a large group to this fun event.

We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes and we play the back nine holes. We are finished just in time for morning coffee in the clubhouse. We are indebted to Tom Daly and staff in the bar for providing the hospitality. We are back again this Friday. Shotgun start at 9am. All are welcome.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE

Our next Social Scramble is scheduled for Sunday May 10. These scrambles are social events and are open to all members including juveniles. They are great fun and an ideal way to meet other club members. Shotgun start at 4.30pm. Timesheet is open so if you would like to join us just go online and book your place between 3 pm and 4.20.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 2th April. The numbers drawn were 5, 12, 15 and 16. The jackpot was €5,300, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €5,400 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner this week, Donal Shek, who wins €100. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
