OFFICIAL OPENING CLUBHOUSE LIFT

On Saturday, 9 May, An Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Minister Mary Butler visited Dungarvan Golf Club, where they received a warm welcome from Club President David Crowley. During the visit, President Crowley expressed the club’s appreciation for the recent Sports Capital Grant funding awarded towards the installation of a new clubhouse lift — a development that will greatly enhance accessibility for members and visitors alike. 

OPEN SPRING CLASSIC

The timesheet is filling up for our Open Spring Classic, taking place this Thursday 14^th to Sunday 17^th May. Entry is €25 per person, with re-entry just €15, and there are great prizes to be won. The format is 2 to count on 1 – 17 and all four to count on the 18^th. Please support our classic and spread the word by sharing with friends. All funds raised go to the improvement of our clubhouse facilities.

VICE CAPTAINS PRIZE

Our Vice Captains, Cathie O’Mahoney and Craig Susdorf, present their Vice Captains’ Prize on Sunday, 24 May.  The timesheet is now open for bookings, and we wish our Vice Captains the very best for what promises to be a great day. We encourage all members to book in.

SOUTH MUNSTER SENIORS

We welcomed a full timesheet of South Munster Seniors last Wed 6^th May with great weather and playing condition. GENTS SCRATCH CUPS

The timesheet is live for our Open Gents Scratch Cups taking place on Sunday 7^th June. The timesheet is sure to fill up fast for this popular annual fixture. Handicap Info:

JB CARR MATCH
Our JB Carr team took on Tramore GC in a second-round match last Tuesday.
In a very tight series of matches, Tramore were the winners on a 3-2 scoreline. Hard luck to our team and managers.

MINOR FOURSOMES

Our Minor Foursomes team travelled to face Mitchelstown Golf Club on Sunday, 10 May, in what proved to be a tough match for our players. Unfortunately, it was not our day, but we thank our hosts for their warm welcome and hospitality. Hard luck to all the team and managers on their efforts and commitment throughout.

GET INTO GOLF 2026

As we approach the final part of phase one of the Get into Golf programme, I would like to thank our participants for their enthusiasm and interest with many of them practicing in our practice area between lessons. By all accounts we have some promising golfers among them. We are very lucky to have our PGA Professional David Hayes on site who is great to motivate and guide our new members. Many thanks to our hard working Get into Golf committee who work tirelessly to keep the programme refreshed and renewed each year.
We are now looking for help from our members to assist our new golfers and take them out on the golf course. These sessions will be for one hour only. If you can help, please add your name to the sheet in the locker rooms. it would be greatly appreciated.

JUNIOR GOLF NEWS

Our Fred Daly team recently defeated Tramore GC and now advance to the Quarter Finals facing Castlemartyr in Castlemartyr Golf Club. Our team produced solid performances with AJ Hayes winning 5/4, Rory McKeown winning 1 up and Junior Captain James O’Donnell sealing the deal winning 3/1. Patrick Mullaney and Donnchadh Callaghan were called in.

Special thank you to all our volunteers Vice Captain Cathie, Alan, Mike, Grace and James who assisted PRO David Hayes with golf lessons last Saturday. Lessons take place every Saturday (weather permitting) and are €5. The conditions for our 60. com competition on Wednesday 6^th May were cold and wintry. Despite this we had a fulltime sheet and some excellent scores. We braved the blustery conditions last Wednesday with good scores on the day 1^st Ann Marie O’Byrne (24) 17pts, 2^nd Lucy Frost (42) 14pts CB, 3^rd Maeve Fitzgerald (32) 14pts. We are back this Wednesday and another fully booked timesheet!

Weather conditions were ideal for golf last Friday morning resulting in a large number participating in the foursomes. It is a lovely social event, playing nine holes of Scotch Foursomes finishing in time for morning coffee in the clubhouse.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 8^th May. The numbers drawn were 13, 18, 19 and 22. The jackpot was €5,500, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €5,600 for the next draw. There was one match 3 winner, Eileen O Donovan, who wins €200 as there was no match 3 winner last week. This week’s draw was draw number 52 of lotto 7. This Fridays draw will be the start of lotto 8. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
