LAUNCH OF LOTTO 6

It is once again the time of the year to check the renewal of your annual €90.00 ticket. Lotto 1,2 3,4 and 5 has proved to be a great success to date and the lotto committee would like to thank members for supporting this necessary fundraiser for the important works which have been carried out on the course thus far. The Lotto Committee would request your continued support by renewing your annual ticket for the coming year, or purchase one for the first time. If you purchase the annual €90.00 ticket for Lotto 6 on or before the 30th April 2024 you will be eligible for a draw for the following:
1. Chamber voucher for €100.00.
2. A free extra annual €90.00 lotto ticket.
3. A meal for two at Dungarvan Golf Club.

ST PATRICKS WEEKEND OPEN SCRAMBLE

 At the time of going to print we had a packed timesheet for our Open St Patricks 14H scramble. It is great to see our members and visitors filling up the timesheet. Full results in next weeks edition.

CONGRATULATIONS ANTHONY MORRISSEY

Last Wednesday, our Course Manager, Anthony Morrissey, celebrated 30 years of service working at our club. Anthony has been a loyal and dedicated employee of Dungarvan Golf Club working initially under Michael Mernin and then in time took over as Course Manager. His passion for our golf course and its upkeep is highly commended and much appreciated by management and members. We thank him for all that he does and we hope he enjoys the next 30 years as much!!

GET INTO GOLF PROGRAMME

Our Get into Golf Programme starts week beginning 8^th April for Men and on 9^th April for Ladies and we have been very busy taking names for this very popular course. If you are a beginner to golf then this is the course for you! We will hold four weekly group lessons with our Pro David Hayes, followed by four weeks on course practice all for just €50.

We have Men’s and Ladies lessons and it is a great way to meet new people and lots of fun guaranteed. We will be holding an Information Evening in the clubhouse on 2^nd April at 7pm for all those signed up to attend.

MENS SPRING LEAGUE

Due to the adverse weather conditions this spring we have decided to extend the qualifying period for this years Spring League to Sunday 31st March.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP 2024

Our Junior Membership year commences from 1^st April. If your child would like to join as a junior member, please contact the office as we have great joining rates of €70 for ages 6 – 12 and €100 for ages 13 -18 (plus €7 Golf Ireland Levy). Please email office@dungarvangolfclub.com for an application form. Children will have great fun at Dungarvan Golf Club, learn to play golf, make new friends and develop life skills.

Our popular weekly Saturday lessons for juniors will commence in April. These group lessons with our PRO David Hayes are great fun and our Juniors learn so much each week.

HOME ALLIANCE CAPTAINS PRIZE

The Home Alliance Captain’s Prize kindly presented by Colette O’ Mahony will take place on Saturday April 6^th. Please enter your name in the time slot which is reserved for Home Alliance from 11.00 am. The Closing date for entry is Tuesday 2^nd April at 4pm. There will be a draw for partners and this will be posted online. You can only play in the Home Alliance Competition on Saturday 6^th. The presentation of prizes and AGM will take place in the Club House after the competition.

This year we celebrate 100 years of Dungarvan Golf Club and we want you to be a part of it! We have a great joining rate for new members €400 (+ €28 Golf Ireland fee) for the first year. We also have Country Membership, Student, Junior and family rates available.

Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. We have a range of competitions and casual golf options for all types of golfers.

Our beautiful bar and restaurant is very popular, Tom and his team serve delicious breakfasts, lunches and evening meals daily.  We have plenty of social events throughout the year and also weekly bridge, cards and poker nights along with book clubs, day trips and visits to other golf courses. MEMBERS GOLF INSURANCE

An email has gone out to all members to remind them to contact the office if they would like to renew their existing personal golf insurance policy or to avail of it for the first time. The deadline is the end of March. Please call us and we can take payment over the phone.SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE

MENS CLUB FOURSOMES

Members are invited to enter this Mens Club Foursomes (Scotch) competition. The format is Matchplay & pick your own partner. Entry fee is €20 per pair and deadline for entry is Sunday 14th April. Sign the sheet on the notice board in the mens locker room, put €20 in an envelope and post it with your names into the 9 Hole box in the locker room. The draw will take place on Wednesday 17th April.

We had no competition due to bad weather last Wednesday. We are back this Wednesday, please book in online.

60.COM

We had no 60.Com competition on Wednesday 13th March due to rain on the day. Hopefully the weather will turn in our favour soon. We will be back as usual next Wednesday. If you’re interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, put your name on the timesheet any Wednesday and join us.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto draw on Friday, 15th March. This was Week 44 of 52. The numbers drawn were 3, 9, 16 and 24. The jackpot was €6,500, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €6,600 for the next draw. We had two match 3 winners – Pat Phelan and David Cliffe – who win €50 each. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website www.dungarvangolfclub.com or in the clubhouse. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. All funds raised are used to develop our course. Our next draw is on Friday 22^nd March.

FRIDAY BRIDGE

Everyone is welcome to our weekly bridge morning every Friday and it is a great social meeting place during the winter months. Bridge commences at 11am.
