OPEN CLUB CLASSIC

We held our Open Club Classic over four days from Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th and it was a great success. The weather was glorious and over 100 teams entered over the four days. We thank all our members who entered and all the visitors we welcomed. Special thank you to our main sponsors Cleanzone Technology Ltd and to all our Tee Box sponsors, we really appreciate the support given to our club.

We had a very hard-working classic committee who went above and beyond to ensure it was a great success. We also had a raffle and we thank everyone involved in selling raffle tickets and those who purchased! The raffle draw will take place next weekend at the presentation of prizes. Tickets still on sale this week. Our course is in fantastic condition and we received great compliments over the four days. Thank you to our course, Pro Shop, office staff and to Tom and his team. Congratulations to all the prize winners! The Presentation of Prizes and raffle draw will take place on Saturday 23rd at 5pm.

We wish our Fred Daly Team the very best of luck this Tuesday when they play in Donabate Golf Club in the All-Ireland Quarter Finals. We are all thrilled to see this brilliant team represent our club and are very proud of all they have achieved so far.

In other team news our Golf Sixes team of Sam Sheridan, Jack Barry, Sophie Walsh, Aine Byrne, Billy Sheridan and Oran Murray travelled to Waterford Golf Club last Sunday and had a super day out playing against other Pre Junior members from neighbouring clubs.

Our Junior competitions were very popular every Wednesday with tee times filling up very fast, it was wonderful to see so many juniors enjoying these fun competitions and the excitement afterwards in the bar where everyone took home a prize. There will be no junior competitions this Wednesday due to our course being closed for maintenance. As school returns the following Wednesday our weekly competitions have ended but stay tuned as hopefully, we will run some at weekends.

We had a great turnout of juniors for our weekly lessons last Saturday and thank you to all our volunteers who gave up their time to assist our Pro David Hayes. Saturday coaching will continue this Saturday at 3pm. If your child is aged 6 and over bring them along. All equipment is provided.  Any enquiries relating to our junior activities can be directed to our club professional David Hayes.
