JUNIOR CAPTAINS PRIZE

Our Junior Captain AJ Hayes presented his Junior Captains Prize on Sunday. Congratulations to Rory McKeown who won the competition, second Cathal McKenna, third Patrick Mullaney and fourth James O’Donnell. Thank you to AJ for being a brilliant Junior Captain this year and for representing our Junior Club so well this year.

BOOK SALE

We are holding our book sale in the Clubhouse on the 7th, 8th and 9th November. All funds raised will go towards our Clubhouse Lift Fundraiser. Donations of any used books can be dropped to our Pro Shop, Harty & Co. Auctioneers and David Walsh Office Supplies. We can also arrange collection in Kilmacthomas and surrounding areas. We welcome books, children’s books and jigsaws!

WINTER RULES

Winter rules apply from Monday Oct 27th, meaning you can lift, clean and place your ball on both the fairways and the rough. Non counting competitions commenced from Monday 27th October. From Tuesday November 4th, the number of competition holes played for ladies will be reduced to 11H and from Saturday 8th November the number of competition holes played for men will be reduced to 11H.

COMPETITION PURSE

The first phase of the competition purse introduction has begun for all competitions during the weekends of October 2025 without any significant issues. The final phase of the purse will now be introduced for all Competition days from November 1, 2025. All such competitions will have a notice showing the purse in operation, when booking a tee time on BRS. If booking a guest, please ensure you have sufficient funds in your purse. Guests can also book directly via our website in the Open Competition section.

DUNGARVAN GOLF CONNECT

Dungarvan Golf Connect is a friendly social group for club members of all levels. We help you get out to play more often, meet new playing partners, and develop your game. Expect regular meetups, updates, and a place to arrange rounds with other golfers. We also organise social competitions and occasional lessons. YOUNGONES

We had a full timesheet last Wednesday 22nd Oct for our weekly 9- hole competition. Results 1st Breda McCarthy (11) 17pts, Mary Buckley (26) 16pts, 3rd Lucy Frost (43) 15pts CB. We have a Halloween Party this Wednesday playing the back 9H. Tea/Coffee and delicious dessert after golf is €5.

60. COM

We had an excellent turnout for our 60.com competition on Wednesday 22 October. The weather was perfect and the course was in terrific condition despite the heavy rain over the previous weekend. The winners were: 1st Mossie MacNamara 19pts, 2nd   Dermot Graham 18pts, 3rd Stephen Lynch 18pts. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Despite being cold last Friday morning, conditions were ideal for golf and we had a good turnout for our foursomes. Nine hole competitions are growing in popularity with the emphasis on social golf.

On behalf of the Fun Friday crew we would like to congratulate Adrian O’Driscoll (a loyal supporter of the foursomes) and the local Tidy Town members on their trojan
work in our town. Adrian was in Croke  Park last Friday accepting a prize for their sterling efforts to keep our town tidy. We are back again next Friday (Oct 31). Shotgun start at 9am. All are welcome.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE

Our next Sunday Social Scramble is scheduled for Sunday (Nov 9). Shotgun start at 2pm. We had a full timesheet for our last scramble so to avoid disappointment it is best to book early. The scramble is open to all members including juveniles. To facilitate those running the scramble entries will close at 5pm the previous evening. Just go online and book your place.

GET INTO GOLF 2025
The nine hole competition for our Get into Golf ladies is now scheduled for Saturday afternoons starting at 2pm. This is an ideal opportunity for our new golfers to participate in competitive golf. Winner: Claire O’Rielly (10pts). This competition is ideal to help our new golfers improve their golf.

LADIES WINTER LEAGUE

The 2025 Winter League commences on November 3rd and will run for 6 weeks until December 14th. Entry Fee is €10. Please enter your name on the sheet in the Ladies Locker room. Teams and condition of play will be posted in advance of the start date. Closing date for entry is October 28th.

MENS WINTER LEAGUE
To enter please place your entry fee €20 in envelope with your name and GUI number for inclusion on the players list. Closing date for entries Tuesday 4th November 2025. Please see email for all conditions of play.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 24th Oct. The numbers drawn were 5, 8, 11 and 20. The jackpot was €2,700, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €2,800 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner – Margaret Coffey – who wins €100. All funds are directed to course improvement projects All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
