MERRY CHRISTMAS

We would like to wish all our Members, Staff, Sponsors, Volunteers, Visitors and Friends of Dungarvan Golf Club a very Happy Christmas. 2025 has been a very busy and successful year for our club. We were delighted to welcome many new members and a large number of visitors throughout the year, and we are truly grateful to everyone who joined us and supported the club during this time.

We sincerely thank our members for their continued loyalty and support. At this time of year, we also remember those members and families who have lost a loved one, and we keep them in our thoughts. A heartfelt thank you goes to all our volunteers who generously give their time and effort to Dungarvan Golf Club. Your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated and do not go unnoticed. We also wish to acknowledge and thank our generous sponsors who continue to support the club. We encourage everyone to shop local and support the businesses that support us. We wish you and your families a happy, peaceful and healthy New Year.

SOCIETY OFFER 2026

Book your 2026 society with us before the end of December 2025 and you will receive our 2025 green fee rate, dozen crested Dungarvan Golf Club golf balls and four green fees to use as prizes. This offer applies midweek and weekends for groups of 16 or more golfers. Call the office or email us for your preferred date.

Our Club Gift Vouchers can be used by members toward their membership subscription or competition purse. Gift vouchers can also be redeemed in our Bar & Restaurant, making them a versatile and much-appreciated gift. JUNIOR/PRE JUNIOR CHRISTMAS COMPETITION

We have a Junior and Pre Junior Christmas competition this Sunday 21^st. The format is Ryder Cup and our team captains are Rory McKeown & Donnchadh Callaghan. It is a 9H competition – shotgun start at 1.30pm. Entry is €10 which includes food and festive fun after golf.

SUNDAY CHRISTMAS SCRAMBLE
This scramble has been the victim of very bad weather having being cancelled already on two occasions. Hopefully it will be ‘third time lucky’ this Sunday (Dec 21). Shotgun start at 1.30pm. Prizes will have a Christmas theme and food will be served in the bar later. If you would like to be part of the fun just go online and book your place between 11.20 and 12.10 pm. Booking closes on Saturday evening at 5 pm.

LADIES CHRISTMAS COMPETITION

On Tuesday 16th December we are holding a Christmas 11H Singles S/F competition.
This will be a shotgun start at 11am. To help us celebrate the season, we encourage everyone to wear their Christmas jumper and hat, there will be a prize for the most festively dressed lady! Tea/Coffee and Mince Pies after golf €5. We look forward to a fun and festive day of golf!

We are delighted to offer our new member rate for 2026 — €460 plus €30 Golf Ireland fee.

Dungarvan Golf Club provides a welcoming and vibrant environment for golfers of all levels. Our well-stocked Pro Shop caters to all equipment needs, and our PGA Professional, David Hayes, is on hand to offer expert guidance, lessons, and support for both beginners and experienced players. Members can enjoy a wide range of competitions as well as casual golf tailored to every type of golfer. Our bar and restaurant serve delicious breakfasts, lunches, and evening meals daily, making it a favourite gathering place within the club.

Beyond golf, we host a rich calendar of social activities, including weekly bridge, cards, book clubs, knitting groups, day trips, and visits to other golf courses. FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Consistent rain on Thursday last dampened the spirits of our regular supporters on Friday morning. We didn’t have enough for a competition but those who played had great fun and it was very competitive. Kevin O’ Morchoe played the ‘shot of the day’ onto the eighteenth green. He played a nine iron over the lakes landing the ball a foot from the pin. Well done Kevin. We are back for our Christmas Foursomes this Friday (Dec 19). Hopefully the weather will be kind to us. Coffee and mince pies in the bar later. All are welcome.

GET INTO GOLF 2025
It was interesting to note that all the winners in the ladies 11 hole competition at the weekend had come through the Get into Golf programme.

It is really encouraging to see them move on, participating in competitions and events organised by the club. Well done ladies.

60. COM

We held our 60. com Christmas Party on Wednesday the 10th of December. We had our largest turn out ever with the clubhouse “bursting at the seams” for the meal. Storm Bram had caused huge damage across the country but the course was in remarkable condition for our 9 hole champagne scramble.

YOUNGONES

We have our Christmas lunch this Wednesday 17^th and we are looking forward to tasty food and lots of festive fun! The timesheet is open for anyone wanting to play in our weekly competition before lunch. Results from 10^th Dec 1^st Bernie Lynch (24) 13pts CB, 2^nd Pat Flanagan (24) 13pts.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 12^th Dec. The numbers drawn were 2,3,19 and 28.
The jackpot was €3,400, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €3,500 for the next draw.
We had one match 3 winner – Billy Walsh – who wins €100. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.

PRO SHOP

Our Pro Shop is fully stocked with lots of christmas gift ideas. Choose from a wide selection of golf equipment, accessories, and clothing. David has lots of special offers including a Gents 5-piece outfit for €120.
