VALENTINES

Tom Daly and his team had a wonderfully busy Valentine’s Night. The restaurant was full of happy members and visitors enjoying our special Valentine’s menu. The food was scrumptious, with very positive comments from all the diners, and the atmosphere was  fantastic. A big thank you to our Ladies Committee for decorating the bar so beautifully with balloons and streamers — it really added to the occasion. It was a very busy night, and full compliments to Tom and the entire team for making it such a success.

Our bar and restaurant are open to everyone for breakfast, lunch, and evening meals, and we are always delighted to welcome group bookings.

MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS

A reminder that membership subscriptions are now due for payment. We kindly ask members to please pay online via your BRS account, or alternatively contact the office. We are happy to take payment over the phone or in person.

DATE FOR DIARY

Our Captain and Lady Captain for 2026 are Patrick Cumiskey and Carmel Fox and we extend the very best of wishes to them both for their year ahead. Our Vice Captains are Craig Susdorf and Cathie O’Mahoney. Our Captains Drive In and scramble will take place on Sunday 8^th of March.

MENS SPRING LEAGUE

The Men’s club Spring League will commence on Monday 2^nd March and will run through to the last week in April. The entry fee is €20, which must be placed in a brown envelope with your name and handicap clearly written on the front, and submitted no later than February 28th. The competition will consist of four categories, determined by handicap. The best five scores will count towards your total. There will be a fee of €6 per round (14 holes). The top two scoring players from each category will progress to the play-offs, which will take place during the first week in May: Category 1 will play Category 2 and Category 3 will play Category 4. The winners of these matches will then compete in the final. We look forward to another enjoyable and competitive Spring League!

LIFT PROJECT

Our Lift Project continues this week, with John Regan and his team working hard to minimise disruption to the clubhouse. The main demolition works have now been largely completed, and we appreciate everyone’s patience while this important project progresses. If you experience any difficulty getting through to us by phone, please email us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

PARENT CLUB AGM

The Parent Club AGM will be held on Wednesday 25th February 2026 at 7.30pm.

GET INTO GOLF 2026

We are overwhelmed with the interest in our Get into Golf programme for 2026. We are oversubscribed and are presently forming a list for 2027. The programme will start in April under the guidance of our PGA Professional David Hayes. We are looking forward to working with our new golfers.

GOLF LESSONS IN TINHALLA DRIVING RANGE
These lessons are in their second week and come at a time when people are thinking of dusting down their clubs in readiness for the season ahead. The feedback is hugely positive and as a result there is a demand from other members in the club to run a second block of lessons. Many thanks to David Hayes for facilitating the lessons.

Many thanks to all those who supported our first Fun Friday Foursomes of 2026 last Friday morning. After a long break over the Winter months, we eventually got back in action. A huge thanks to Adrian O’Driscoll who ran the competition so efficiently.

60. COM

We are back! Our 60. com competitions have been cancelled for the last four weeks due to rain but we were back on Wednesday 11th February with a great turn out of members. Everyone was delighted to get back on the fairways despite the going being tough. We had terrific scores. 1^st Sean English 20pts, 2^nd Mossie Walsh 19pts, 3^rdTom Scanlan 19pts. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

YOUNGONES

We are back this Wednesday and hoping for better weather!! There are a few spaces available on the timesheet.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 13^th February. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 13 and 18. The jackpot was €4,300, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €4,400 for the next draw. We had two match three winners – Bernie Lynch and Sinead Conroy – who win €50 each. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.

We have limited weekend dates available this summer for golf societies, with excellent midweek rates also on offer.
