CAPTAINS DRIVE IN

The timesheet is open for the Captain’s Drive-In and 9-Hole Scramble, taking place on Sunday, 8th March. The Drive-In will begin at 2:00pm, followed by a 9-Hole Scramble at 2:30pm (shotgun start). We hope you can join our Captains Patrick Cumiskey, Lady Captain Carmel Fox and Junior Captain James O’Donnell, as we celebrate the start of their year and wish them every success for the year ahead.

MENS SPRING LEAGUE

The Men’s Club Spring League began on Monday 2^nd March and runs until the end of April. Each 14-hole round costs €6. The competition will have four handicap categories, with your best five scores counting. The top two in each category qualify for the play-offs in early May, with the winners advancing to the final. We look forward to a great Spring League!

It seems a lot of people have dusted down their clubs and are back on the fairways again. A huge thanks to everyone who supported our competition last Friday morning.

We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes. Shotgun start at 9 am. We play the back nine holes and we are back in the clubhouse for morning coffee.  It is a great way to meet other members in the club.

LESSONS IN TINHALLA DRIVING RANGE

The first set of lessons for our first group of golfers concludes this week. The feedback is hugely positive with everyone anxious to get back on the course to practice. David Hayes is doing amazing work for our club with a second set of lessons beginning this week.

GET INTO GOLF 2026

We are working on our Get into Golf programme in readiness for our new season. We will run a programme for men and women. There is a huge interest in golf at the moment as we put into place a ‘waiting list’ for 2027.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Our scramble last Sunday was cancelled due to a poor forecast. Our next scramble is scheduled for Sunday March 15. Shotgun start at 3.30 pm. These scrambles are open to all members including juveniles. Purse does not apply to this competition. Time sheet has opened. If you would like to join us, just go online and book your place.  All are welcome.

We were back on the fairways on Wednesday 25 Feb for our 60 .com competition. The weather throughout 2026 has been abysmal with constant rain – however the fairways were in excellent condition and the course was “holding up well”. The scores as usual were excellent. Results: 1^st Craig Susdorf 22pts, 2^nd Michael Stack 19pts, 3^rd   Tim Browne 19pts. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

YOUNGONES

Our Youngones were delighted to be back on the fairways last week after 5 weeks of no golf due to the bad weather. 1^st Breid Scanlon (34) 12pts, 2^nd Carmel Fox (26) 11pts CB. We are back again this Wednesday with a few spaces available.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 27^th February. The numbers drawn were 2, 8, 22 and 24. The jackpot was €4,500, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €4,600 for the next draw. We had one match three winner – Dave Hogan – who wins €100. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
