BENNY KIELY RIP
It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our club member Benny Kiely. Our sincere condolences are extended to his wife Dolores, his sons Jack and Michael, his mother Mary, his brothers Ian, Darragh and Mattie, his sister Mary Kathryn and all the extended Kiely family. Benny will be greatly missed by all his golf playing partners and friends in Dungarvan Golf Club. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
CAPTAINS DRIVE IN
Our Captain’s Drive took place on Sunday in beautiful weather, with a fantastic turnout from members to welcome our 2026 Captains — Captain Patrick Cumiskey, Lady Captain Carmel Fox and Junior Captain James O’Donnell. Following the ceremonial drives, almost 80 members took to the fairways to enjoy a 9-hole scramble, making it a wonderful afternoon of golf and camaraderie.
Afterwards in the clubhouse, Captain Patrick paid a moving tribute to our deceased member Benny Kiely. A dignified minute’s silence was observed as we remembered Benny and kept his family in our thoughts at this very sad time.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMESHeavy frost last Friday morning resulted in course closure until 10 am. This put paid to our foursomes yet again. However, we are facing longer and brighter days and hopefully better weather. We play nine holes of Scotch foursomes with a shotgun start at 9 am. We are finished just in time for breakfast or morning coffee in the clubhouse later. Simply turn up at 8.45am ready to start at 9am. All are welcome.LESSONS IN TINHALLA DRIVING RANGE
We are on our second group of lessons having completed one session with David Hayes our PGA Professional. The feedback has been hugely positive from those who participated. The set-up in Tinhalla with all the different bays felt like the lessons were on a one to one basis. Many thanks to David Hayes our PGA Professional for facilitating the lessons. Well done all round.
