JB CARR TROPHY
The JB Carr Trophy is an annual InterClub matchplay team event for Male golfers aged 60 + (you must have reached 60 years on or before 1st January 2026). The format is Scotch Foursomes matchplay and each pair must have a combined handicap not exceeding 30, based on your lowest handicap in 2025. If you are interested in joining the clubs panel for 2026, please add your name and handicap to the list on the InterClub notice board in the Men’s Locker Room.

ST PATRICKS DAY OPEN SCRAMBLE

SOCIETIES

Last Saturday we welcomed the first of many societies booked in with us this year. Our weekends are very busy from May to the end September but we have weekday availability at great rates. Email office@dungarvangolfclub.com for bookings.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE

THERMOMIX DEMO

All welcome to come along to a Thermomix Cooking Demo on Wednesday 8th April at 7:30pm in the clubhouse. Come see the amazing Thermomix in action, pick up some great cooking tips, and discover how one machine can replace up to 20 kitchen appliances! There will be plenty of tasty ideas and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. If you’d like to come along, please add your name to the list in the locker rooms to book your spot.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS

Invoices have gone out by email to all our Junior and Pre Junior Members and payment is due by 1^st April. Our Junior season kicks off soon and weather depending our Saturday lessons will start in the coming weeks. We are really looking forward to getting our eager juniors back on the course!

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
This event takes place each Friday morning. Shotgun start at 9am. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes and we play the back nine holes. We are finished just in time for breakfast or morning coffee in the clubhouse. Simply turn up at 8.45 am ready to start at 9 am. All are welcome.

LESSONS IN TINHALLA DRIVING RANGE

The lessons in Tinhalla driving range concluded this week with very positive feedback from the participants. The lessons were mixed and the set-up in Tinhalla with all the different bays felt like the lessons were on a ‘one to one’ basis. We are hugely indebted to David Hayes our PGA professional who facilitated the lessons and geared them to the needs of the different golfers. Many thanks David and well done to everyone.

GET INTO GOLF 2026

We are overwhelmed with the interest in our Get into Golf programme. Presently we are oversubscribed for 2026 for ladies and men. We are holding an information night on Monday April 13 and lessons will begin on Monday April 20. We are putting a ‘waiting list’ in place at the moment for 2027.

We had glorious weather and a full timesheet for our 60 .com competition on Wednesday 11 October. The course was in excellent condition as usual. 1^st Tommy Butler 20pts, 2^nd Jim O’Mahony 20pts, 3^rd Stephen Lynch 19pts. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

YOUNGONES

It is fantastic to see a packed timesheet for our Youngones 9H competition this week. We hope the weather is good and we can all enjoy 9 holes of social golf.

LOTTO

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 13^th March. The numbers drawn were 2, 11, 21 and 24. The jackpot was €4,700, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €4,800 for the next draw. There was no match 3 winner this week. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
