JUNIOR GOLF NEWS
We are excited to kick off the first Junior Competition of the year on Tuesday, 7th April! There will be an 18-hole Junior Competition along with a 9-hole Pre-Junior Competition. Be sure to book your spot on the timesheet early, as spaces are expected to fill up quickly. Our Junior Golf Lessons will resume on Saturday, 11th April at 3pm. We’re really looking forward to welcoming all our enthusiastic juniors back for another great season of learning and fun. Best of luck to our Fred Daly and Junior Foursomes teams, who are in action this week.
A reminder that Junior Membership invoices have been issued via email and are also available to view and pay through your BRS account. Payments can also be made in the office if preferred.
GET INTO GOLF 2026
Time is fast approaching to welcome our new golfers. We are holding an Information night on Monday Apr 13 starting at 7 pm. We will outline clearly the stages in our Get into Golf programme and what lies ahead for them. This meeting is open to men and women.Lessons begin on Monday Apr 20 (ladies) 11am-12 o’clock.Tuesday Apr 21 (Men) 6-7pm and 7-8 pm.Wednesday Apr 22 (Ladies) 11am – 12noon, 6-7 pm and 7-8 pm.Lessons will continue with our PGA Professional David Hayes for four consecutive weeks.We are indebted to David for facilitating this and we look forward to meeting and working with our new golfers.
MOVING TO 18H
Our Gents competitions are now being played over 18 holes. We will continue with winter rules for the time being, which include: Playing from the white tees, Clean and place throughout the course, Rake and placing in bunkers. We hope to return to full counting competition status in the near future. Please note that Ladies competitions will also move to 18 holes from Tuesday, 31st March.
LADIES SPRING LEAGUE
Congratulations to our Spring League winners Team Ping with 51pts – team members Louise Moloney, Colette O’Mahony, Mairead Flynn and Catherine Dwyer. Runners up were Team Dunlop with 47pts – team members Theresa Guiry, Mary Buckley, Nollaig McCarthy, Kate McNamara and Carol Walsh. Presentation of prizes will take place on the evening of Tuesday 7th April after our start of season scramble.
PERSONAL GOLF INSURANCE RENEWAL
Thinking of renewing or taking out personal golf insurance this year? Please contact the office to arrange. All policies from last year expire on 31st March 2026, regardless of when they were taken out. The cost is €25 for the year, with payment due by 1st April.
LADIES 9H START OF SEASON
The closing date for entry to our Ladies Start of Season 9-Hole Scramble is Tuesday, 7th April at 10am. Please be sure to add your name to the timesheet in advance. The competition will begin with a shotgun start at 5:30pm. Entry fee: €12 (cash), which includes food after golf. We hope you can join us as we kick off another enjoyable and successful season of golf!

We had cold wintry weather for our 60. com competition on Wednesday 25 March. Our Youngones filled up the timesheet last Wednesday 25th and enjoyed 9H’s and great company. 1st Mary Buckley (25) 18pts, 2nd Breda McCarthy (11) 16pts CB, 3rd Pat Flanagan (24) 16pts. This week we have our Easter competition on Wednesday 1st April, playing the front 9 holes. A big thank you to Marianne Mulcahy for organising our weekly competitions and special events like this Easter competition.
FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMESThanks to everyone who supported our foursomes last Friday. We were delighted to welcome our Captain Pat Cumisky who is a great supporter of the foursomes. It is great to see some of our ‘Get into Golf’ participants joining us. 1st Pat Cumisky and Martin Rousse (37), 2nd Adrian O’Driscoll and Tara Dunphy (38). The foursomes are an ideal opportunity to meet others and have fun. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes and we play the back nine. Shotgun start at 9 am. if you would like to play some social golf just turn up at 8.45am. We would love to see you there.

THERMOMIX COOKERY DEMO
Last call for names for the Thermomix Cooking Demo on Wednesday 8th April at 7:30pm in the clubhouse. Come see the amazing Thermomix in action, pick up some great cooking tips, and discover how one machine can replace up to 20 kitchen appliances! LOTTO
We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 27th March. The numbers drawn were 12, 14, 16 and 18. The jackpot was €4,900, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €5,000 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner – Kevin Phelan – who wins €100. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.
