JAMES POWER – RIP

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our long-standing club member, James Power. We extend our sincere condolences to Ronnie and all the family at this very sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

LADY CAPTAINS PRIZE

Our Lady Captains Prize kindly presented by Carmel Fox took place over the

weekend. Congratulations to Liza Black on winning the Lady Captains Prize and to all those

who won the most beautiful prizes kindly presented by our wonderful Lady Captain Carmel

Fox. The weather was glorious over the weekend. The sun was shining, and everyone

complimented how fantastic the course was thanks to our hard-working greenkeepers. 

On Sunday night we had the presentation of prizes, and the huge turnout of ladies ensured

a fantastic atmosphere around the clubhouse. Thank you to Tom and all his team in the bar

for all their hard work all weekend. Congratulations to Carmel and all the ladies committee

on such a well organised event.

JUNIOR GOLF NEWS

This Wednesday, 29^th July, we have two Junior Competitions taking place: the Pre-Junior 9-Hole Competition and the Open Junior 18-Hole Competition. There are only a few spaces remaining, so be sure to get your entry in!

We remind all our Pre Juniors and Juniors of course rules and behaviour while on the course and in the clubhouse.

Our Junior Lessons take place every Saturday at 3.00pm. Come along and enjoy an hour of fun, learning and skill development. Equipment is provided, and you do not have to be a club member to take part.

Due to the phenomenal interest in our junior and pre-junior membership, no more junior applications are being accepted at this time. A waiting list is available for new applicants. GET INTO GOLF 2026

The success of the Get into Golf programme was very evident last weekend for our Lady Captains weekend when more than a third of the participants had come through the Get into Golf programme. A huge congratulations to Liza Black who was the winner with a combined score of 136 and who is a Get into Golf lady.  Congratulations also to Helen Frost who also featured in the prizes.  We are very grateful to our Captain Carmel Fox who included both a nine hole Get into Golf competition and a putting competition specifically for our new Get into Golf ladies with Natalie Brown winning the nine-hole competition and Kylie Queally winning the putting competition. Well done and thanks to
John Dempsey who organised the putting competition.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES

It is great to see so many gathered on Friday mornings ready to play in the Scotch Foursomes. It is a real social event and an ideal way to meet other members of the club. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes and we play the back nine holes.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE

Our next social scramble is scheduled for this Sunday Aug 2. Shotgun start at 4.30pm.
These scrambles are open to all members including juveniles. They are great fun and a great way to spend your Sunday evening. If you would like to join us, just go online and book your place. We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 24^th July. The numbers drawn were 1, 4, 25 and 26. The jackpot was €6,600, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €6,700 for the next draw.
