PRESIDENTS PRIZE

Our President David Crowley held his Presidents Prize over the weekend. The timesheet was jam packed in advance of the competition and despite heavy downpours over the weekend there was some great scoring.

Congratulations to Katherine Morrissey who won first prize to the ladies and Mark Sheehan who won first prize to the men. Congratulations to all the prize winners (full list below). Thank you to our course, restaurant, office and pro shop staff, for all their assistance and hard work leading up to and over the weekend. Thank you to the President’s Prize committee and both Men’s and Ladies committees for their great assistance in ensuring the smooth running of the competition.

Thank you to everyone that helped take competition entries on Friday and Saturday and to all those who help behind the scenes at every major competition with scoreboard set up, clubhouse decorating and the important inputting of scorecards & results. These major competitions require a huge amount of work, and we are truly blessed to have so many wonderful members who generously give up their time year after year to help make these events such a success.

JUNIOR CAPTAINS PRIZE/JUNIOR NEWS

Save the Date: Our Junior Captain James O’Donnell presents his Junior Captains Prize on Sunday 13^th September. There will be an 18H Junior Competition and 9H Pre Junior Competition on Sunday afternoon followed by presentation of prizes. The timesheet is open for bookings and we look forward to a great day.

We had a great turnout for our Junior Lessons last Saturday, thank you to all our volunteers for their invaluable assistance. Come along and enjoy an hour of fun, learning and skill development. We will be holding an on-course rules and etiquette session on 12^th September after lessons for our new junior members. Further details to follow.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES

Due to our Presidents Prize (kindly presented by Dave Crowley) we had no foursomes last Friday. However, we are back this Friday (Sept 4). Shotgun start at 9 am.
We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes and we play the back nine. We are in just in time for morning coffee in the clubhouse. If you are free and would like to join us just be at the clubhouse at 8.45am.

GET INTO GOLF

Our new golfers are making great progress and are really enthusiastic about playing golf.
Congratulations to Martina Raher Murphy who won the 9 hole Get into Golf competition last Tuesday evening. It is great to see them participate in competitions and in their weekly practice every Monday evening.

We had no 60. com competition on Wednesday 26th of August as the President’s Scramble was taking place on that day. We will be back on action on Wednesday the 2nd of September.

YOUNGONES

We had no competition last week and are back this week from 11am. We hope all the ladies travelling to Wexford for their away trip enjoy a lovely few days.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE

Our next Social Scramble is scheduled for next Sunday Sept 6. Shotgun start at 4.30 pm. These scrambles are open to all members including juveniles. They are social events and great fun. If you are free and would like to join us, just go online and book your place.

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 28^th August. The numbers drawn were 7, 8, 21 and 26. The jackpot was €7,100, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €7,200 for the next draw.
