JUNIOR CAPTAINS PRIZE/JUNIOR NEWS

Our Junior Captain James O’Donnell presents his Junior Captains Prize on Sunday 13^th September. There is an 18H Junior Competition and 9H Pre Junior Competition on Sunday afternoon followed by presentation of prizes. The timesheet is filling up fast and we look forward to a great day.

We had a great turnout for our Junior Lessons last Saturday, thank you to all our volunteers for their invaluable assistance. Come along and enjoy an hour of fun, learning and skill development. We will be holding an on-course rules and etiquette session on Saturday 12^th September after lessons for our new junior members. Further details to follow.

LADIES CLUB OUTING TO WEXFORD

The ladies club enjoyed a most successful outing to Wexford Golf Club and Bunclody Golf Club on Wednesday and Thursday.  We were extremely fortunate to play in lovely weather conditions on both days.  We stayed in The Talbot Hotel where we were served a scrumptious four course dinner and a very substantial breakfast.

Many thanks to all the ladies who made it very enjoyable for all with your punctuality, chat, company and laughs. There were many very positive comments about the choice of courses and hotel which were very well received.  Well done to all the winners.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES

After a short break over the last two weeks we were back last Friday morning with our nine-hole Scotch Foursomes. We had a great turnout and weather conditions were good.

We play nine holes and we play the back nine.
This competition is social golf and great fun. It is a great way to meet others. We are back in the clubhouse just in time for morning coffee. We are on again this Friday morning – shotgun start at 9 am. All are welcome.

GET INTO GOLF

Our Get into Golf 2026/programme is well under way with a lot of very promising golfers going forward. It is great to see the enthusiasm for the weekly practice on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Our entries for the nine-hole competition on Tuesday evenings is very encouraging. Well done to Clodagh Kearns on winning last Tuesday evening with a score of 17 pts with Edel Firth in second place with a score of 16pts. Well done to all for entering.

60. COM

As usual we had a full timesheet for our 60. com competition on Wednesday 2 Sept. The course was in magnificent condition – with the greens being excellent. The winners were: 1^st Adrian O’Driscoll 21pts, 2^nd Michael Dwyer 18pts, 3^rd John Hickey 17ptsIf you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday be putting your name on our timesheet.

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 4^th Sept. The numbers drawn were 5, 11, 17 and 22.  The jackpot was €7,200, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €7,300 for the next draw. We had no match 3 winners this week, next weeks match 3 prize will be €200.
