JUNIOR CAPTAINS PRIZE/JUNIOR NEWS

Our Junior Captain James O’Donnell presented his Junior Captains Prize on Sunday night. We held two competitions, 18H Junior and 9H Pre Junior, which were both very well supported. Congratulations to Ronan O’Donnell who won the 18H Junior Captains Prize! Ronan was presented with his prize by his brother James! Congratulations to Evan Radley who won our 9H Pre Junior Captains Prize! It was wonderful to see so many juniors taking part and enjoying the day, having fun and playing some great golf. James has been a fantastic Junior Captain and has been a brilliant role model for all our juniors.

We had another great turnout for our Junior Lessons last Saturday, thank you to all our volunteers for their invaluable assistance. Come along and enjoy an hour of fun, learning and skill development. We held a one hour on-course session on rules, etiquette and how to navigate the course after lessons for our new junior members. Thank you to all our members who assisted with this. Our next on course rules session for new members is on Sat 19^th at 4pm. Please contact David Hayes if you would like to book in.

For all Junior related questions please contact David Hayes, our Junior Convenor, in the Pro Shop and please follow our Facebook/Instagram pages for updates.

TOM DALYS RETIREMENT SCRAMBLE

As you know and despite our best efforts to persuade him otherwise Tom Daly is retiring in mid-October. Tom has been a true stalwart of the club and will be hugely missed. Tom has been a familiar face around the clubhouse for so long that many of us are wondering how we will recognise the restaurant without him. Tom’s talents have always extended beyond the kitchen. Over the years he has managed to find himself involved in just about every club event.
To celebrate this momentous retirement we are planning to organise a Scramble to honour the great man. It is an 18-hole scramble on Sunday October 4^th. There will be no draw just put your name on the timesheet which will open today at 2pm. The cost is €15 payable through the new purse system. If you are unable to play and would like to make a donation, that option is available by putting your contribution into an envelope and dropping it into the office. Th timesheet is almost full with just a few spaces remaining.

A presentation to Tom will take place in the Clubhouse at 7pm on the evening of the scramble and we welcome everyone to attend to thank Tom for his 25 + years of service to the club.
